Ummm, only 6 of the 10?? Who the hell were the 4 that didn't?? Mullin was probably one..Not sure if you could say your own player or not. But wow, only 6 of 10?? Who the hell else would be mid season POY??

Shamorie Ponds and Phil Booth have solid cases. I wouldn't be surprised with Howard struggling and Ponds shining in the two games against SJU that some voters gave him the nod.

Still extremely lazy.
One guy is on a 9-2 conference team the other on a 5-6 team
And the guy on the better team has the better overall stats
Booth got the 2nd most votes......
got to believe the race is close to being over unless something strange happens

I get that, but the fact it wouldn't be unanimous is ridiculous.
I'm fine with Booth and Ponds getting some votes. Doesn't seem that crazy to me. If Markus continues to perform for the next 7 games then he will get it.

I think the thing that hurts Markus is at times his inconsistency. Should Mullin really vote for him?
Shoukd Ewing at this point?
Would jay vote for him over Booth?
There is 3 right there that r prolly pretty simple.
Faux outrage. For a point of reference, only one player has ever been a unanimous pick to the baseball HOF. Not Ruth, Cobb, DiMaggio. A majority picked Markus. Cool.

Agreed. The other guys would be the wrong choice, IMO, but not a total travesty.

I am not upset that Markus only received 6. But asking if Ewing should vote for him is not a good question. The vote isn't about who did best against your team. Its POY. I assume he watches tape....well maybe not

I'm not sure anyone is outraged. I'm genuinely curious how someone comes to a conclusion that Markus isn't POY. One could make a case for Booth or Ponds if they want to be contrarian, but it's a far worse case.

I think coaches use that as a frame of reference tho. Booth say lights GT up twice and Markus doesnt play againt GT gonna affect his vote.
It's possible Wojo didn't pick Markus since you can't vote for your own guy on the actual vote right?
If coaches only view conference play, I guess I could see the argument, and some make the argument the award us for the best player in BE play.
Overall season body of work, it's not close. But just since conference play has started, Booth has been pretty damn good
