That SJU is just NOT very good..i have been saying this since the start of the year..but so many tell themselves MU lost to a "good" team Tuesday night..if you just accept Tuesday's loss for what it was..a bas home loss..you will feel much better.
Go MU! Lets get this one today
Rearview mirror. Biggest game of the season is today.
I have accepted that all along. As for Tuesday's loss, it was simply a matter of MU missing a ton of open shots that we normally hit. It sucks, but it happens.
Lock this, what is the point?
CANCEL THE REST OF THE SEASON.
Post less
They are not Very good. They are however good enough to beat us sometimes. Get over it man
By this logic, New England fans should still be ticked they lost to the Lions. It happens.

Well, they beat our ass twice, so that may speak to quite a bit.

No. Providence gave us all we could handle at home and Heron didn't play today.

Don't think you get what he was doing there
Will Guru be able to function next week if this game goes the other way? yikes
Guru, I'm with you on this. They're a bad matchup for us because Markus is a high usage guy and Justin Simon is a nightmare matchup for him.
I really haven't been impressed by them in other games. I watched them play VCU, Georgia Tech, and numerous Big East games and just don't think they're very good. They have talented pieces that don't really fit together. They benefited from a soft non-con but their 1-6 record against non-MU/Creighton Big East teams seems somewhat telling. They match up really well with some teams, but when they don't have that advantage they look mediocre.
Doesn't effen matter, guru.
We didn't shoot well. We lost. It's over. Move on.
Effen celebrate a big National Marquette Day win over the defending national champs. Enjoy life for a change!
They play a very tight rotation and were missing heron who is one of their best players. I'm over that game though. So happy with the win today. Next biggest game is Tuesday and it is a huge game.

StJ is a good team, not great, but good enough for a bid. They are also a bad match-up for us. We are absolutely capable of beating them, but the 1 point home loss to them is our "best" loss of the season.
Good enough to come from 19 down to beat Nova.
Since Nova and MU are 1-3 against StJ, can everyone please now accept that guru knows things others don't?

Give it up...Nova is far more talented then SJU, they just played as bad as I have seen them play since the beginning of the year..I have said REPEATEDLY the most talented team doesn't always win, but more often then not they will...this was an instance where they did not.
St. John's has some good athletes that also happen to be good scorers. They also strategically defend the 3 well. Given that Marquette and Nova shoot the 3 well, it shows why we struggle a bit in the matchup.

IMO Nova hasn't been playing well recently. I like MU's chances at Nova.
I agree with Zar. Nova is not quite on top of its game right now. They aren't playing poorly but are maybe about 10% off their theoretical max.
There are few great teams in the country and none in the BEast.
Nova is very beatable -- obviously, since they've been beaten 2 of their last 3 games. I like our chances in 10 days!

I disgree. We've seen three different Nova's now. Start of the season Nova (bad), first half of the Big East schedule Nova (heater) and current Nova (somewhere in between).

I don't think they are "very beatable", especially at home. They will be ready for us for sure. I have @Nova pencilled in as a loss on my schedule.

Well, they've lost 2 of 3, including to a team at a place where they hadn't lost in 19 years. Earlier in the season they lost at home to Furman and (essentially at home) to Penn.
So maybe I should have just said they were "beatable," instead of "very beatable"? I can live with that.
We got this!
