K-State moved into first place in the Big 12 last night with their win over Kansas. Louisville is half a game out of first in the ACC and does have Duke and Virginia both at home among other winnable games giving them a shot at the ACC though they do have to close at Virginia. Wisconsin is only a game-and-a-half out of the Big Ten and Michigan State suffering the big entry their chances increase.
certainly it's possible all three of these will fail to win their conference regular-season title, but it's not impossible that three teams who marquette beat during the season all win a major conference. That would be quite a calling card on selection Sunday whether or not kenpom is correct on Marquette still having some losses the rest of the year.

Plus, when Marquette wins the Big East, we'll have those 4 times where we beat ourselves.
Beat Nova this weekend and we'll have a win over the Big East champion, too. Four wins over major conference champions!

Beat Nova twice and we will be the conference champion.
Louisville is not winning the ACC. Becky is not winning the big 10 So who cares ?
Maybe they all win their conferences; probably they don't. Either way, they will all be looked at as high quality wins by the committee in March.
