How many of you are heading out there?
Same time as Spring Break, tempted to go.
I'll be there
I am going to Vegas for the conference tournaments, but I am thinking I should of went to Big East tournament as I think we have a real chance to win it.
I can't swing it this year despite access to tickets. Going on vacation the week after and have to hope that the bars in my hotel in Mexico can cover all 4 games at once for the tournament.
I would love to go, but I hate to take several days away from the office only to have us lose early. I can only play hookie so many times. I'd rather save it for the NCAA Tourny or something like the preseason NIT (I went this year).
Now in a couple years as I ease into retirement, I may become more of regular for this tournament.
Going for the first time this year.
Been meaning to ask the Scoop brethren about the best ways to get tickets. Do they sell them in doubleheaders? I seem to remember people in years past saying that scalping is the way to go.
Already booked.
Ugh, it's always the week that the auditors come to review our financial records.
Looks like I won't be going to the Big East Tourney until I retire.
I'll be there for the 2nd time. Got all session tickets through Marquette. Felt the prices were reasonable although I'm sure I could have saved some money if I was willing to sacrifice peace of mind.
We'll be staying in East Meadow so that will likely be a pain.
We have a group of 3-6 going. For all but one it will be our first time. Will be monitoring Scoop for ticket-buying suggestions, pre-game locations, etc. Still have to book accommodations. I prefer airbnb or VRBO but I keep hearing that NYC is not friendly to these operators. A lot of them advertise though. Undecided on how to proceed at this time.

Is this one of those things where you can just hire another auditor? You should totally do that. ;D If it's the state...then good luck.

Short of changing our fiscal year end, there's not much I can do about it. Any earlier, and we probably wouldn't be ready. Any later, and we probably wouldn't be done in time for the BOD meeting.
But I like your way of thinking.
Will be in Maui the last two weeks of the regular season. Will rest up back at home for the BET and then hopefully go out to Des Moines for the first round.
Will be there. Tho flying in from overseas (customer) late on Thursday night so hope I am not disappointed when I land.
Be careful about buying tickets right outside the Garden. For whatever reason the NYPD work thatcarea like a crime scene. Tons of undercovers.
I'll be there with a crew. Gonna scalp/buy ok stubhub.

Yep. I've got the hotel booked for Des Moines. Cmon baby!
In.
Taking my son(MU class of 22)!!!!
As much as Benny B lives for March basketball, four weekends in a row of MU tourney basketball is a bit too much for him.

I just stayed at the Renaissance this week. Still have some hiccups to work out (Concierge lounge just opened after 4 months), but great option and location overall.
Have fun, will be in Arizona at Sloan Park and Camelback watching Cubs that week.
If St. John's can keep winning, Big East Tournament will have another good year at the ticket gate. Example, Georgetown is at St. John's this Sunday. I heard there is about 500 ticket left for this game at MSG.

Never too early to book rooms... you can always cancel and re-book later if prices drop. Benny's got a pair of rooms booked that the Embassy Suites in Des Moines, Doubletree Suites in SLC, and will be looking at Hartford and Jacksonville tonight.

We went a few years ago and it was worthy of a repeat.
Not gonna lie. Totally annoyed that we won't know what session we are in until likely a week or two before. Unless it becomes a two horse close race with Nova. Might ALMOST be worth contacting a nova fan at this point and saying "you buy 4 for session x and I buy 4 for session Y" then exchange based on how it plays out. Cause tickets are reasonable right now. I suspect that'll change come early March.
If your the #1 seed you are in the day session on Thursday. #2 seed you are at night.
If we win vs NOVA on sat GREAT! (I really hope we do!!)
With a loss though, I am likely going to settle on focusing on the 2nd place evening session for BEAST tourney tickets.
They are around $30 a piece now on stubhub.
Can anyone who's been there the last few years shed some light on what they saw for prices the day of the games etc?
Would be greatly appreciated for many of us here that are making the trek to support the boys!
Is there a bracket available somewhere showing which place team plays at which time?

Has anyone who ordered through Marquette received their tickets yet?

Still TBD if going, likely in NYC anyway for NFL and MLB meetings, at least trying. Was hoping family could go as it is Spring Break, but not happening.
Will be there for Thur and fri sessions.
Going to semis
No longer attending....bring home victories
I'll be there with a friend, arriving in NYC Friday AM so hopefully we take care of business on Thursday. Staying right near MSG at a Marriott, got a pretty good rate. I still haven't bought tickets yet, any insight would be appreciated. Right now for both Friday and Saturday the cheapest tickets online are about $100. What have people payed in the past?

Is that $100 each for Fri/Sat or both combined? I'd estimate it will stay around $100 for Friday until some local teams or favorites get knocked out. If St. Johns, PC, SH, etc. make it to Friday, expect it to creep up. Your best value will be buying from someone looking to unload after their team loses, but it's obviously not guaranteed you'll find it. For Saturday, hope for Marquette vs. DePaul and pay whatever you want to get in.

The last 2 weeks have really dampened my anticipation for NYC next week. I'm just hoping to see at least 2 games at this point.
From what I can tell, the #2 seed gives Marquette the 7:00 game Thursday which is preferable to the 12:30 game from my perspective.

If it's like years past, Mustang Harry's is the place pre/post game
I got an email from MU saying mustang Harry's is the official spot 2hrs before the game and right after the games are over. Not sure what type of crowd they've gotten there in the past.
The only time I went to the Big East tourney was 2013. I went to Mustang Harry's before the game and it was a good time. Tons of MU fans and lots of hype. Then we got smoked by ND and that was that.
Good bar though. I recommend it if you're looking to pregame, especially with other MU fans
I just want to avoid the Johnnies until the final if we both make it that far. I can just see us playing Creighton, St. Johns and Nova

Was wondering the same. If they play St. John's, it'll be all enemy territory. I'm holding out on getting tickets until after Wednesday's game. As much as I'd like to see MU get a chance at redemption against St John's, the ticket situation will be much easier/cheaper if they are playing Depaul.

I'd love to get a chance to get some revenge for the earlier losses, and I think you're right about them struggling on day 2. But that home court advantage is real. The "expert" picks I've seen so far have been roughly split between Nova and SJU, and I've got to think that the MSG effect plays a big role in those picks.

Ain't that the truth. I also hope MU gets a Friday night game next week. Nothing worse than a Thursday morning loss to completely ruin the first weekend of the tournament for you. Obviously hope we don't lose in the first round regardless, but at this point, any win is going to be kind of gravy, which sucks.

Watching Butler/Providence. This might just be me, but I do not like the two tone court this year. Having nothing written written along the baseline makes the court look naked, IMO.
