I was out on the court somewhere in there.

Markus fouled out in 7 minutes of action with no points.  I did not remember that.

Rowsey put a lot more work in that game then I remembered.

The thing that sticks with me from that game is the crowd just willing that comeback on. Felt like the whole place stood for the last 5-6 minutes just trying to give the boys enough of a boost to get some stops. There was only 14k there but the place was loud as hell down the stretch. What a night.

Was at the schoolyard with a few MU buddy's and most the MU crowd left halfway through the second then trivia started. Then the three MU tables left started going nuts and they had to cut the trivia guy

Agreed completely. Re-watching the highlights (for the 83,000 time) it is amazing how loud the crowd was when we hit a shot to narrow the lead to 10 with not a lot of time left...truly amazing

Same thing happened to me during the CU game this year.  Everyone is doing trivia except me and one of the bartenders (MU grad), then everyone looks at us like were crazy when we lose our isht when Sam hits the shot.  Trivia took a break until OT was finished.

The crowd nearly lost MU the game, too.  If Driscoll had been on the court that night, he would have put 0.4 back on the clock and called a T.

Ha! I love how Corbett whistled a foul when nobody touched Sam. Just anticipated it. Thankfully he gave up on trying to figure it out.

Rewatching the highlights really makes it apparent how badly we all needed that win. The crowd was going nuts after a score when we were down 11!

Compare that to this year when no one  bats an eye if we're down 7 or 8 to Providence

Perfect combination of Villanova starting to lay an egg and we couldn't miss.  I was in Dallas with colleagues, going nuts.  Needed that win for sure, especially when we lost at home to Providence a few weeks later.

It was a special night.  The best we'd experienced since our Elite 8 run.

Kudos to Jay Wright for not pursuing that potential foul with 0.4 and the chaos of kids celebrating on the floor.  Sure he wanted to win.  But he knew it was good for the BEast not to pursue some crazy technicality.  We're lucky to have coaches like him and Ed Cooley as elder statesmen in the conference.

At the end yes, but the weirdest part about the game was there was no big run to get them back in the game.  They were down 15ish for a good chunk and then all of a sudden you looked up and it was a 2-3 possession game and the crowd ignited down the stretch.  I clearly remember playing on my phone and chatting with the people around me for most of the second half cause it was ugly and kind of boring and MU was not playing well.  But the end was electric

Yes, it was a special experience at the BC that night.

I stood in the BC atrium for a good 5 or 10 minutes on the way out, soaking it in.

That atrium is just sticking out in the open now. Crazy seeing all of that outdoors now.

Yes, I was at the game with my dad, and the first 30 mins were frustrating to say the least.  I believe we were down 18 at one point, but when we got to 11 the place got LOUD.  It felt like we had just tied it up, but it was still a double digit deficit - crazy!  The crowd sensed something magical was about to happen, and just when we got within one possession, JJJ threw a horrible pass to Archie for a layup the other way, the momentum was gone...but, somehow we got it back, and the rest is history!

I was still in London for this game.

Remember staying up for the beginning of the game which started at like 1am and told myself I would give it until at least halftime just to see if Marquette was even in it. Made it to half, think they were down by double digits by that point so I turned it off and went to bed.

My sister actually messaged me that morning saying something like woah, did you see this? with a video attached. I was so groggy that at first I thought she was talking about the Creighton game a few days before. It took me until like 11am to realize that Marquette had actually won. Looked up the score in class and let out an audible what the unnatural carnal knowledge and was pretty much useless for the day.

I remember Sam got that final rebound and I just stood staring at the TV for a second.

Then I turned to my wife and father-in-law and said, "I can't believe we actually won that game."

We have told this story before, but it's my very favorite personal Marquette story, so I am going to tell it again.

Glow and I saw the game from our normal upper bowl seats.  When the kids stormed the court, I told him, "We have to go down there!"

When we got to the lower concourse, the ushers had blocked off all of the lower bowl stairs to prevent more people from getting to the court.  I said, "Let's try the Courtside Club!".  Sure enough, there was a clear path to the court.  I sprinted through the club, leaving Glow in my wake.  I was so focused on making it onto the court, I barely noticed a man walking past me in the opposite direction.

A second or two later, I heard Glow saying, "Great game, coach!".  I turned around and saw freakin' Wojo shaking Glow's hand and saying, "Thanks! I am so happy for the players and the fans."  They talked for a few more seconds, and Wojo continued on to the locker room.  I looked up at the TV in the club, and Kaitin Reinhardt was putting on headphones for an interview.  Wojo must have just gotten done with his own TV interview.

So yeah, Glow was apparently the first fan Wojo talked to after the game.

I guess that means glow is on the hot seat by extension!
