Title: KenPom results from last night's game
Post by: Floorslapper on December 22, 2018, 08:18:10 AM
Just took a look at the KenPom stats from last night's game.  Incredible.  Best I recall seeing for an MU team.  Ever.

1.32 points per possession
All players except Sacar had O-ratings over 132

Markus with usage of 51%

Lost in all of the rightful attention for Markus - It appears Chartouney played a really good game against a really good team.  Encouraging.

That was crazy, and so fun to hear the roars as the threes kept falling. I love when a performance is so good you can't help but laugh at some point.

Do they provide usage by half too in Ken Pom. Markus had to be 70%. As much as he was rolling, I still felt uncomfortable at one point seeing Sam and Joey waiting in the corners with hands outstretched waiting on a kick out for a wide open look that he knew wasn't likely to come. You could compile a video of that this year. Markus was absolutely rolling, it was incredible to see a 40 pt half, and this isn't a rip on Markus after an amazing performance. I do wish he would have thrown the other guys a bone once or twice during that stretch because they were wide open. All that said, I watched the start of the second half last night when I got home. Markus had 3 2nd half points in the first 5 mins, so wow over the last 15!

Not that I'm aware of.  But he does have a quarter by quarter box score.  Last nights looked like this:

                             Q1       Q2      Q3       Q4
Buffalo                   22       16       26       21
Marquette              15       24       28       36

So, as KenPom projected a very tight game (MU favored by 2), through the first 30 minutes.  Then Buffalo got "Markussed."
