Title: sked question
Post by: MU82 on December 20, 2018, 10:07:50 AM
MU vs X on 1/6/19 still listed as 11 a.m. or 3:30 p.m.

Has anybody heard what time this game actually will be?

Whenever the NFL decides it will be. Be prepared to wait another 10 days or so.

Yep, depends upon when the NFC game on Fox is that day.

Usually easy to figure out, with the “marquee” game being on Saturday night, then opposite conference gets the late game Sunday. With Chicago, Dallas, New England and Pittsburgh, potentially hosting games that weekend, who knows what the marquee game will be. Dallas hosting Saturday night would make the MU game 3:30. AFC hosting Saturday night, would make the MU game 11:00.

Thanks for the answers. I'm a patient man, so it's all good.

Here is one, why would MU schedule anyone but schools with RPIs over 250 for home games during the xmas break? Makes no sense.
Play Buffalo during late nivember early december n a cream puff without the students.
Clearly more to it than that buy buy games we should be setting the agenda.  Anyone should have known this would have been a tougher game, maybe not 14 but definitely top 75.
Hopefully it is all a moot point u would hope between mu being ranked and playing a ranked opponent it will take care of itself, yet the students always add the the homecourt much more so that the sweter vest who seemingly stand at the beginning and then again at halftime and then to leave.

I agree with you, but scheduling isn't always that simple.  This game would have ideally been last weekend, but the Bucks were at home Friday and UFC was in the building on Saturday.  The two Saturdays prior were KSU and UW.   So I guess they could have scheduled it the day they played Presbyterian, but my guess is Wojo wanted a cupcake between Indiana and the games out in Brooklyn.

The Presbyterian date was also likely being held for the second preseason NIT campus game. We had to get an exemption to play that game when they couldn't deliver an opponent on that date. I'd be surprised if we didn't sign a contract with Buffalo before the 11-17 slot was finalized and determined to be available for a buy game.

My DirecTV guide has the game scheduled at 12:00/11:00 EST/CST on Sunday Feb 6 vs. Xavier.

Thanks. Just checked MU website and they still have it listed as 11 a.m. or 3:30 p.m.

As others have said, we'll probably have to wait for the NFL playoff schedule to get finalized.

I just check my cable guide. It's say CBS has the 1st NFL game and ESPN is in primetime on Saturday. Well, that never is the case. As ESPN always gets the afternoon game.

Yes, we will know for sure on this Sunday. I willing to bet the Cowboys are the late game on FOX on Sunday. Making the MU game at 11am.

Do you know a typical timeframe for finalizing a buy game? Just curious.

I don't, but that one was different because we expected to have a Preseason NIT game on that date. The Buffalo game was scheduled really early. If you look at the second post in the 2018-19 Non-con Schedule thread below, we knew that at the beginning of April. Looking through the thread, we didn't know the NIT couldn't provide a second game until the latter half of May at the earliest, so Presbyterian had to come together after that (we needed special NCAA permission to schedule it).
