This team has no confidence and couples it with some just plain stupid decisions with the ball. It's really ashame because there is so much potential here. Of course, this may also illustrate how bad Notre Dame really is!!!
there is no comparison between this team and the we saw earlier in the season- when is the last time they ran that baseline play for barro? Heck, when is the last time they ran a play? How could they forget everything?
Next we'll be hearing about how they have no heart.
Bunch o' manic-depressives around here.
oh- they probably have heart- but no idea how to win a game right now - glad you don't mind being completely embarrassed- again. Guess you just enjoy the thrill of competition. Well twenty post losses back to back isn't competitive.

I've never been embarassed by the results of a college basketball game and feel bad for any fan who would feel embarrassment over the athletic performance of a bunch of college students.
They shot poorly and lost. Get over it.

There is no comparison because we are now consistently playing teams that have as much(ND, Providence) or more talent(Louisville, UConn) than us. Up until Big East play only Duke and Wisconsin had better talent than us. We are still a very good team that will finish fairly high in the Big East but these are the games where our shortcomings are magnified. We need to make the neceassry adjustments to steal some of these road games against the upper echelon teams.
feel bad for then- don't fall off your high horse though. The "Kids" are brought to campus to win ballgames. Period. They not only arent winning, but are embarrasing right now.
I hope I am wrong- bit this team doesnt make the tourney this year. There, I said it- another year without a tourney win. Great job coach! Let's extend your k!
There is nothing wrong with observations on the play of the team, I assume that is one of the reasons people subscribe to this board, including those who suggest "getting over it." Of course it's a basketball game, of course it's college kids, but it seems that fair comment is always in order on the part of fans. Or, maybe that fan is happy about it!
As for today, MU looks terrible. Poor shooting, lack of quickness, no game plan--just bad. The scary part is that they've played this way in the last 7 of 9 halfs. That would suggest that they are not as good as many of us anticipated.
Another brutal half of basketball for Marquette. I understand that winning on the road is a difficult task, but we're not even competitive in these games -- again MU is well on its way to another double-digit road loss.
Also... does anyone besides Lazar shoot during warmups, or...?

I'm not suggesting there's anything wrong with making observations on the team. That's why I - and I assume most everyone else - come here.
I just think it's kind of silly to have one's self-esteem wrapped up in how well or poorly a bunch of 18-21 year olds you don't know play a game.
And I think it's equally silly the up-and-down nature of some of the analysis. I understand that roller coaster approach is part of fandom, but just eight days ago this team was being touted as a Top 10 unit. Three halves of basketball later, they'll be fortunate to get a spot in the NIT. Yikes.
The frustrating thing is that TC has built this team around guards, and none of the guards can shoot. Throw in Fitz, who needs 10 to 12 seconds to get off his shot, and Cubillan, who shows off every time he makes a shot, and you've got problems that are not fixable. This team will have some great games and some god-awful ones. Unfortunately in this league you have to have a great game to win on the road, and we may have already had our great road game.
I think the Marquette women's team could have been our team today.
Are we running anything on offense today? Or is it just weave with the guards combined by an occasional and very weak pick-and-roll at the top of the key?
It's painfully clear that this team is at its best when it's not trying to play a half court, "slow it down" type game. The times we went on 'runs' (using that term very loosely) this game was when we were getting steals and pushing the ball up the floor. You can't fit square pegs into round holes -- this just isn't a team that's capable of playing a slow, 'run your offense' type of game.
Today's performance, moreso than the Louisville game, has been completely embarrassing.

It was my first time seeing MU live this year. We watched McNeal make about 10 3 pointers in a row before trotting back to the locker room before the start of the game and my son and I looked at each other and I said something along the lines of " Uh-oh, I guess this means McNeal will be throwing up bricks early." Also, Blackledge looks like Dr. J in the lay-up line. Some UConn fans sitting behind me were saying "Wow, watch that guy. Who is THAT?"
