they keep playing like this an you will have a chance to see a home game in the nit-
I love those home NIT games. Great seats, plenty of room to put your coat down .. sweet.
Great tourney, the NIT. Under rated. Get to play at home. Really nice, the NIT.
I think you have to play .500 in your conference to be considered for an NIT bid. That's not a lock.
Other than the UK upset in 1994, my best bkb memories - thanks to f-in Austin Croshere - were the NIT runs. Sure, not the postseason media hoopla the NCAAs attracts, but still good, quality comp that you get to watch at home. I can't envision it EVER leaving Milwaukee when Marquette plays especially because Marquette is such a draw in ticket sales compared to most other colleges.
Okay, stop any and all discussion of the Not Important Tournament. Remember that 40 spot MU dropped on Western Michigan at the BC? I still do. What good is it to lose to a mid-major at home? If this year's team goes to the NIT, I think the University should decline the invite and spare the embarassment.
I too like NIT games, get to sit in the good seats and plenty of room to spread out.I would think if they ever had another NIT game at home, they'd play it at the AL.The crowd would be small, and would fill the AL and have a real home court advantage.Unlike the last time when Western Michigan nearly filled the bottom bowl of the BC.

The answer is no unless we make it to the final 4.
The best way to get to these tourney games is to make friends with people on this board or other Marquette fans who have a car and go for the ride.

Hey, then at least maybe we'd get to see a big-name-conference team come to the Bradley Center...that IS, after all, what we ALL seem to want on here, right?! That'd be sweet...FINALLY! We get our money's worth for a home game that isn't against a Big East team!
Or we could get run off the floor by Western Michigan in front of 2000 people.
it's sad to see how everyone is reacting to two tough road games against NCAA tournament teams, not to mention two of the best coaches in the history of college basketball.
you are all worthless little whiners
3 road games.

It's called noticing a pattern. Seasoned MU fans know TC's teams peak early.
If MU teams always peak early and games 3-16 of last year's conference slate was really just a decline then I'll take another such decline this year please!

Especially in 2002-2003
Wow 1 year out of 9
We always peak to early.
And for god sakes I do not want a repeat of last year because we were out of the tourney very quickly

Not really.
How else can you respond to those clearly better teams? With brutal honesty.
Before the season, we thought this team could hang than UL. Well, it didn't happen.
We knew we had guns to beat UConn and thought they'd play with "a chip on their shoulder". And they got whooped early and hard.
Didn't you think MU was a better team than the one that played those two games?
We're not that good right now. And I don't know if our frontcourt play and ability to defeat a zone (which were huge questions) will ever come around.
I hope it does. But until then, the rose-colored glasses stay tucked away in the nightstand.
