I regret my negative comments about Wojo and this team. I was impatient. I respect the posters among you who have enough composure to let the good times roll.
Willie did u start a new account??
Accepted.....'.now relax and enjoy the season......and don't go off the deep end the next time we lose a game......or god forbid 2 in a row.

For the last two years at least, you have been Mr Pessimist.
Luke Fischer is the man, deal with it.

Been there. Better to show your emotions on an internet message board than to hold them in.
You could still end up being right. It was my opinion that losing to IU at Assembly Hall and to Kansas on a neutral floor was not the end of the world. Some saw the two losses as proof of their existing negative opinions toward Wojo. Again, they could end up being right. Those were not the two data points from which to make the final judgement.

I think we saw things to justifiably be concerned about, primarily the inability to make adjustments to IU's start or KU's second half chasing us off the line.
Since then, Wojo went inside more against Louisville, KSU, and Wisconsin. We also went right at KSU in the foulfest to take advantage of their shorter bench and adjusted to Happ tearing us up with passing by stopping the doubles and taking everyone else away. I would also give Wojo credit because most of the improvements we've seen since the Kansas second half have been of the coaching variety. Hope that continues.

On Homer's show this week, Wojo said, "We're not a three point team." Which, I think we all now realize, but has taken some adjustment for everyone (coaches and fans) to realize and execute.

Wojo has practically pulled out the term 'paint touches'.
A lot of our optimism hangs on two overtime wins. Lose those 2 and our opinions of MU are mediocre at best.
BUT we did win.
Win the two games we lose and we're a Top 10 team. If the Queen had balls she'd be he king...
Cleanishprogram-----I did the same thing after the Kansas game.

Well that's cute. But despite a halftime lead Kansas handled MU pretty well and IU, well you need more fingers and toes to count that margin.
No, those two losses being wins vs the two OT wins being losses are not apples n apples. Not even close.
So to repeat: Lose those two OVERTIME games and we talk different. A real possibility.
But like I said, we won. I am optimistic given our home court advantage and our relative poisition in the BE. But we have been fortunate.
So to repeat: Beat Kansas and Indiana and we're a Top 10 (or Top 4 team).

Lose to Kansas State in '77 and Al ends his career a loser.
Lose to Mizzou in the second round, and there is no D-Wade dominating Kentucky.
Lose to Davidson in '13 and Buzz is labeled a choker.
Etc, etc, etc.
Why does our fanbase keep wanting to denigrate our wins?
Great question. It's mind numbing. I think some people get off on it.
It's sports. Games, records, seasons are decided by single moments and single plays. It's nothing new.

Because a segment of the fanbase don't like wojo (and haven't since th hire was made) and want him/the program under him to not succeed

Also, there are segments of the fanbase who also possess one or more of the following traits:
1. Consider any result below a Final Four appearance a crashing disappointment
2. Believe their armchair coaching decisions are far superior to any of those of the actual coaching staff
3. Are never happy unless they are miserable

Oh hey, I know the answers to these questions. Will there be prizes for those who answer all correctly?

A lot of people don't think you can get anything positive from a close loss, but at the same time want to criticize close wins. Can't have it both ways.

Spot on, chickadee.
Some folks seem to have problems just enjoying life, and the role of sports in their lives.

Smitty - Chick was making statements not asking questions. I know how eager we all are to "name names" of malcontents (and in other threads bigots, homophobes, misogynists, xenophobes, date rape supporters, evil doers, conservatives, etc.) but you're out over your skis on this one.

All of these are general truths that can be applied across nearly all of the internet. I think most of the surprise is that it also infects the "best and brightest" minds of Marquette students/alums, because we are all well aware of the existence of these kinds of people outside of Scoop.

I think we've seen a lot more flexibility on Wojo's part this year than any year so far. It took a few games for it to sink in (for coaches and fans alike), but it seems that we just won't be the same offensive juggernaut this year that we have been in the past. Now that we've seen how we can play when we score inside and get to the FT line, we have some new life on offense. I like it. Changing things up when Plan A isn't working out is needed, and Wojo has done a great job of that in the last couple of weeks.
Now that the tape is out there for our conference opponents, let's see how well we can do at additional adjustments as defenses come out with new gameplans. Hopefully we'll see more of the same kind of flexibility in the next 3 months.
