Did anyone else watch most of the Fox triple header on Saturday, and notice that they were using the NBA on NBC jingle going into and coming out of commercials? Or am I just hallucinating?
exactamundo............... I swear that was the exact sound watching NBA games when larry Johnson and zo were both on the hornets.
Super weird!!!!!
It was the same jingle, yes.
Wait...this one?

Can't hear this song without thinking of MJ and the Bulls at their peak.
This was exactly it, have no idea what happened but it brings me back and I love it!

I mentioned this in the game thread. Awesome, awesome move by Fox!
NBC brought the theme back for their Olympic men's basketball coverage, but I guess the licensing agreement must have ended.

Yep, I posted that this was John Tesh's Roundball Rock was going to be played on FOX/FS1 before Saturday's games in the TV Thread pinned on the top. I think it's weird. As you think of the NBA on NBC. Yet, a move that people will like and get people talking about FOX College Hoops. So, what the heck! Why, not!

Big time fan. Some great Bull memories from that era.
It really messed with my associative memory. Like, listen to this jingle: remember Jordan, Olajuwon, Barkley, Shaq, Kemp? Now watch two teams go almost 5 minutes without scoring.

Got a meme for the game chat?
I love that song, but associate it with NBA. Sort of like when the Fox NFL song is played for basketball games.

Ha. Though, this post was an aura of light compared to the standard themes of masochism and doom.

It's not the NFL version.
The version is different for college football and basketball. Most remember the start that is the FOX NFL Theme the first 4 seconds, but different after with drum line and such.
Roundball Rock is the GOAT, though I do associate it with the NBA.
I'm also completely blanking on name of the guy who used to do all the NBA coverage and it's really bothering me.

Marv Albert
Marv Albert?
No wasn't Marv Albert. Maybe it wasn't NBC but the studio guy who always did NBA stuff in the 90s and early 00s.
Ahmad Rashād ?
Love the NBA on NBC theme but it just didn't seem to fit right if that makes sense.
Dick stockton in the cbs glory days?
I get the mental association/confusion with the NBA, but IMHO it beats the heck out of the Fox NFL music.
Heart of a Champion.
Nelly raps over the NBA on NBC theme. Fantastic.

Ha, that was on our volleyball warmup playlist back in the day.
Tesh is syndicated. Same program on station I work for in Tomah.
I miss Music and Intelligence for Your Life in Milwaukee. Those survey facts Tesh reads for 30 to 60 seconds between songs is outstanding.

That was it! God that was annoying.
Marv was NBC's main NBA voice. He was the best ever. He has slipped some now that he's 106 years old, but still better than most. I grew up listening to him call Knicks games on the radio. From the 70s through 90s, there was nobody better than Marv. And he still hasn't been eclipsed IMHO.
