That was absolutely amazing. I had chills, I was nearly in tears. What a performance.
Just incredible.
I missed it, what's the story?
She was great.

Young girl. But very good. And a performer for sure.
A little girl sang the anthem.
I had completely forgotten about the Mbakwe/Norris thread. Nice reference!
She sang the anthem at the Bucks-Warriors game Friday night as well. Incredibly talented young lady!
She's done a marquette game each of the last few years. She is incredible. Forget her first name but last name is Segura.
Remanisicent of when Buzz slapped hands with the Anthem singer and Bo decided to do so at the Kohl center because Buzz did.... it was awkward... and we won at the Kohl hole....

I actually think it probably was the same girl.

Nope, yesterday was Liamani Segura. Her first public performance was 2015, after Buzz had left. Yesterday definitely wasn't her first Marquette game (maybe 2nd or 3rd?) but they would have all been in Wojo's tenure.

She was outstanding. You could tell she was playing off the crowd with her mini smiles and smirks.

That she has a wiki page reminds me the of the travesty that I'm a Scoop moderator and don't have a wiki page.
I mean, come on.

That's on you. Especially when the MUScoop wiki is right there to be edited, and let's be honest, that's the more prestigious wiki to be on.
Loved it when she hit a great note and did some vocal gymnastics in the middle of the song, the crowd screams, and she gets this little grin on her face. She smashed it.

That grin was awesome. Just the right mix of joy and cockiness. Very much a "nailed it" expression.
After the MU game was the MLS Cup, and the 7 year old girl that sang was part of the buzz on sports websites. She was incredible, too. The notes she hit, crowd was very into it. Not sure I've seen a better performance by a child. Chills.

Nope, the girl from Madison is Styler Stecker. Aaron stecker's daughter.

Being the aging Luddite that I am, I don't know the specifics...but can't pretty much anyone with a little time on their hands create a wiki page?

Pretty sure Bo did it because he was confused. He saw Buzz do it first, and erroneously thought she might be a ref.

I thought he only communicated with refs by screaming at them.

Those are the male refs. With this one, he whispered something about a massage after the game....

Yes .. but "
Writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is an example of conflict of interest editing and is strongly discouraged. Editing a biography about yourself is acceptable only if you are removing unambiguous vandalism or clear-cut and serious violations of our biography of living persons policy."And the subject must be "Notable" .. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability
Clearly, a Scoop mod eating beef n cheddars has more notability. 8-)
She did a great job. Wow
Her version was more contemporary. I love the "original version". I loved the CPO (apologies if I have his rank wrong) who did it last year, I think at the ..... Help me out here, this guy was outstanding

Edit, Generald Wison. Dude can bring it.
No one tops Kate Smith.
She was good, but my wife and I have heard her on at least four other occasions over the years, 2 at the BC and 2 at Miller Park. We both agreed that even though she's hitting the notes, you can definitely tell her voice is changing.
It's unfortunate that you can't admire someone like this without wondering if it isn't just the notes that are being hit.
