Title: Marquette Basketball Podcasts
Post by: brewcity77 on November 29, 2018, 10:59:54 AM
After listening to the latest Anonymous Eagle Podcast, I was wondering which pods Scoop fans are listening to. Scrambled Eggs has been around the longest and reliably covers all topics of Marquette basketball. Real Chilly has become pretty well established with a rotating cast of hosts. Anonymous Eagle is the newest one, but does a really good job of intelligently dissecting advanced stats.

So I'm curious for people's thoughts in general and the pros and cons of the various pods.

I listen to all 3.  The more MU Bball discussion the better!

I've only listened to one or two Anonymous. Used to love the site when it came out but grew weary of the writing style plus they can be annoying on Twitter.

Love Real Chili and Scrambled Eggs.

I was wholly unaware there was an Anonymous Eagle podcast.

Listen to most episodes from Scrambled Eggs and Real Chilly.

...also did not know Katie Holmes' father played for Marquette.

The most recent AE Podcast was, for me, the best so far and one of the best basketball pods I've heard in awhile. They did a really good job of getting away from the raw, skewed by old data kenpom numbers that are often focused on and always inaccurate this time of year and dug more into eFG%, defensive 2PFG%, transition offense, and other tangible advanced statistics that are actually accurate this time of year. It was an excellent player by player breakdown that touched on the same struggles I'm seeing both on the court and in statistical breakdowns.

It has taken a little time to find their footing, but today's episode (E6) was really good. I would recommend it very highly.
