Title: Ticket Buyers/Sellers at Fiserv
Post by: MU gimp ONE on November 28, 2018, 10:13:25 AM
Since i don't think it's PC to call them scalpers anymore...

Anyone know where the guys who buy/sell tickets are now or if they are even still around the arena.  The past couple games i've had extra seats that i would typically try to get a few bucks for in front of the BC in years past.  This year, i've asked workers outside and they said they haven't seen the guys and that since the Fiserv has so much more property, they don't think they are allowed on grounds anymore.

Has anyone seen guys buying/selling outside MU games?  if so, where?

It's hard to sell tickets on the street when paper ones have been all but eliminated.

You are going to see even fewer next year.

Nah, it's easy.  Just bring a black marker and some paper and draw the bar code.

What a shame. I'd much rather buy/sell through a scalper than have to go through stubhub or the MU re-sell site. #buylocal

Might be a moot point if you continue to be so disappointed in our team.   ;D

Seriously, though, why would you prefer buying from a dude on the street?  Your choices are much more limited, and you are always risking that you won't be able to find what you want.

For MU it's never really been an issue, since I have season tickets. But for Bucks games, I've had pretty good luck getting seats last minute for a better price than I was finding online. Tickets were always legit too.

One thing I never thought I'd hear with the conversion to digital tickets -  "I sure miss the scalpers!"

There were very few scalpers at Barclays. I was hoping for a better option than the box-office and wandered around for 15 minutes looking for them and only found a couple with a pair each.  I was on all ticket sites tracking prices from a couple days out until 20 minutes before tip.  While there were plenty of seats available, they did not unload them, and thus there was no secondary market deal to be had. They curtained off the entire upper deck too. I'm sure all of these teams are getting better now with price analytics and there will be less and less of a secondary market in the coming years.

I had a similar experience, although I had tickets.  No one was selling, and only one person asked to buy any extras (maybe that was you!).
