It's hard not to love this kid. Really enjoyed this read
That's what Marquette is all about. Thanks for posting the link.

Well said Markus......
And articles like this about perceived high character individuals representing Marquette is why Wojo has a longer leash.

"Perceived"?

Except when he turns the ball over a few too many times and many MU fans just complain about him.

Because we really don't if he is a better person than Jimmy, DJO or Jae but the fact that he's A) not a juco and B) quoted in an article for Athletes For God leads some to believe he has higher character.

Wasn't there something about kids from another country in there.

1. No one has said anything about him being a better person than DJO, Jimmy, Jae or any JUCO. Weird that you would bring that up. No need to view every remark here though a Buzz vs Wojo lens (no pun intended).
2. Those who have praised Markus' character have done so not just because of the quotes here but his other work in the community, his interaction with fans, etc. I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper. But based on what we know, he seems to be a pretty good kid.

Isn't "he seems to be a pretty good kid" the definition of "perceived"? And if that perception gets Wojo a "longer leash", longer than whom?
I think Lens's interpretation is reasonable.
The original use of "perceived" was a bit weird...like doubting the face value of the thing is important in some "argument" against Wojo's leash...ok whatever. I don't really know Markus myself. I guess his good reputation could be a sham. Skepticism not my initial take when I read article.
Also comparison with Jucos was weird. Where did that come from? I like DJO and Jae and Jimmy...why compare and compete their character with Markus?? Didn't see anything in the article about how Jucos have less character??? Weird.
Excellent post. I am very impressed with Markus's maturity and growth at Marquette. We are fortunate to have him on our team.
