This thread is ONLY optimism and positivity with regard to the 2018/19 basketball season.
Please keep negative posts to literally any other thread on this forum!
Example of an approved post: We just took down a very solid Louisville team and will have Greg Elliott back before we know it!
Example of an unapproved post: Yes we beat louisville, but we should have lost because Wojo can't coach!!!!!
Is it optimistic that another person drove into the Al today?
Defense is clearly better.
Theo is clearly better.
4-2 despite not getting consistent contributions from anybody not named Sam.

4-2 is way better than 3-3. And, against a difficult schedule, with lots of room for improvement.
Sam's yellow shoes with the baby blue soles are sick.
You're doing great, guys.
Marked defensive improvements give some hope Wojo can teach defense
Liked what I saw from Ed last night. Hopefully that helps turn things around for him and he can be the contributor most expected.
18 points and 9 rebounds from the center position last night.
Bailey hit a three!! And Jay Bilas said he's going to be very good!
3 ranked opponents in the next month. All three at home. Let's go baby!

Theo has drastically improved since last year and last night there were glimpses as to how Ed put up the numbers he did at NE. Looked smooth and very athletic at times.
Joey's steal down 4 with about a minute left was huge. I had forgotten about that because it was overshadowed by his big free throws and tip in late in regulation. Some big rebs too.
I know he hasn't played much but Heldt seems to be moving more like himself. It did seem that foot was bugging him still earlier. I am hoping he still has a role as a solid interior defender; may play a big role in defending Happ v UW.
To borrow a line from a Movie, it's should be the season of Hope not Fear. Hope that these young guys develop and Gel into the team we expected and we enjoy the journey with all its Ups & Downs. Lets not easily accept failure, but lets not Fear it exists.
Matt had a great assist

Absolutely. It's obvious that it was an overeager ticket buyer.
Great idea for a thread. Seen similar ones on other boards.
Lots of great opportunities for wins coming up.
Found these to put on my Christmas list!

Contributions from Murrow!!
Marquette won and Sam was once again the best player on the team.
Louisville will be better than many think. This win might end up looking better than we think down the road.
Found a way to win despite not playing their best. Seem to be learning from mistakes. When some struggling players find their footing, notably Anim and Cain on offense, the team will receive a boost.
One other thing to keep in mind, Chris Mack knew Marquette very well. So a new team with a new coach and a new syste,, but the Coach at least knew how to scheme against us.
Even in games where Joey doesn't shoot a high percentage he manages to stay efficient by getting to the line often.
This team can really shoot the crap out of free throws.
Theo is surprisingly fluid in the open court.

This is big. Getting into the paint and getting to the line does seem to help us even though we're a strong 3P team.
Am i the only one who thinks markus has improved significantly on defense?

Yes! and the numbers bear out that he has been better. Last year he gave up .912 points-per-possession and has improved that to just .640 PPP in the first 6 games this season.
We haven't lost a game in our baby blues yet!!!
I'm very optimistic but of course it is all hypothetical.
Great contributions from a bunch of new faces last night against Charleston Southern. Happy to see Bailey finally break out of his shell.
Defense is still trending the right direction. T-Rank's last 10 metric (so this season) has us at 34th in the country. If we maintain that, that is a leap beyond even the biggest optimist's dreams
Joseph, Brendan, and Ed all look much better than they did in the first couple of games.
Bailey's got some hops to him!

This post did age well!
Chick
I agree that all three look better than they did a couple of weeks ago. Hope they carry over against stiffer competition.
I don't know the stats, but it seems all transfers normally have 5-10 games or so before they figure out how to fit in and contribute on a steadier level. As chick said, three of those (including BB since he has been out two years) are starting to contribute. I only caught the second half, but JC seemed to be controlling the game a little and acting like a real point guard. The threes were real nice to see, as having point guards that can't shoot really hurts an offense. Overall, I was pretty happy to see how they played (the new guys).

Wait... so we shouldn't write-off any of our players at the beginning of a season? Weird logic
We will win Saturday.
Not just optimistic. We match well with K-state. Home field is becoming home field. New guys getting used to it all. Multiple contributors (KSU only has 6 guys). We will win.
The lighting at the fiserv.forum really makes our uniforms look snappy!!!

I'm glad to take all the credit when I'm hot but when things start to regress they were just bad beats ;D
Markus dropping 40+
Sacar finding success on drives to the lane
The defense!
Top 15 win!

Our freshman phenom smothering an all American to the tune of one shot attempt in the first half. Incredible effort
It's early, but MU ranked #25 in eFG% defense... after finishing the last 2 years ranked #292 & 241in that stat.
The last 2 times we were ranked in that range were 2012 (S16) and 2008 (Lopez junk ball away from S16)
Beat Wisconsin by being tougher.
18-3, ranked 9/10. For entertainment purposes only, I recommend going back and reading the threads from November after losing to IU and Kansas. It sucks outside. What else are you going to do?
Wojo thinks Joey can get better, a lot better, this year.

Good news is some of those takes are hot enough to keep us warm on a day like today. Mine included as I wasn't very optimistic after the Indiana loss.
