I expected losses to IU and Kansas. I expect to win the rest of our non conference games. This is where the rubber meets the road. No more excuses for this team. Put up or shut up.
So if MU loses to Louisville, Kansas State, and Wisconsin...???

That would be a big problem. Losses to 2 of those would be a big problem. Losses to 1 of them...not a giant problem.

Shocking.

Jaysus - lighten up - I'm just prompting the scoop response for when we lose 2 of those 3.
You must be a blast at parties.

Probably more of a blast than people crying because we lost by 9 to the best team in the country and claiming Kansas didn't try.

Sure, but that's a bit of a non-sequitur no?

All good. All the evolved posters knew we'd lose like we did and they are certain MU will win all their conference games and go to the S16. You're just silly. This team is kicking some ass. Let Markus run PG and put your faith in Woj. We got em where we want 'me. Nothing to be concerned about. I knew they get the doors blown off in Bloomington and that they wouldn't score a point for the first 9 mi s of second half of the KU game. Don't you look at advanced stats? It was right in front of your eyes. I said it
AST June.
Anything more than one more non con loss is unacceptable to me.
I think we win out and enter BE play 10-2

We play 13 non-conference games.
I actually agree with this sentiment. We lost two games that 99% assumed we would. Now we lost them in troubling fashion, but the outcomes were expected. That said if we go 3-0 vs WI, KSU and UL we can be on our way to a really successful season

Throw in Buffalo too. I'm not very optimistic frankly.

I don't think people are upset that we lost by 9. I think the concerning part was the 22-0 run and 8 full minutes in the second half without a point.
We shot lights out the first half. We knew we would come back to earth. The question was, what adjustments could be made to try to stay in the game.
As Buzz use to say, your true colors show when you get tipped over. I didn't like what I saw when that happened.

I don't think 9 scoreless minutes can be pinned solely on a coach. Even if it's the worst coach in the world, at some point a player has to put the ball through the hoop.

Not saying it just on Wojo, or Markus, or Sam or any other team member. It was a challenge the whole team faced. No one could stop the bleeding, that's a problem.
We've discussed the topic at length, basketball is a game of runs. You have to be able to find a way stop them.

I agree - isolated incidents are anomalies. Isolated incidents occurring over and over though are patterns.
I am thinking they bounce back tonight. Will be interesting because Mack is obviously familiar with Wojo and the team + they looked ok vs TN.
Y'all bin bitchin' 'bout da defense and writefully sew, butt da offense sucks donkey balls two, hey?

It's a waste of time putting anything at the feet of coaching/Wojo when dealing with Wades. Everything has been 100% the players fault since wonderboy's arrival.
Buzz also said you need you a guy who can go get you one. What player on this roster has the ability to go get you one/and stop the bleeding? (As in a Burton, Blue, DJO, Jimmy, Jae?)
MU needs to go 2-2 at minimum against TN, WI, K-State, Buffalo to give me any hope for the team having ANY kind of chance to win an NCAA tournament game.

Agree with you completely in the first paragraph.
I think they need to go better than 2-2 though. (And they play Louisville not TN.)

At one point we got the score to 75-66 with about 1:30 left and had the ball. If we had a go to guy along with a plan, there may have been a chance still at that point . Could have made a 3 , gotten it to a two possession game and stretched out the game and taken it from there . The Johnnies have a guy like Ponds that gives them that capability .

Players good first half
Coach bad second half
::)
Nobody stepped up in the second half during that 22-0 run during that 10 minute stretch. That's a problem.
That's on the players as they are on the court but ultimately that is on the coaches for not making adjustments to put the players in a better position to succeed.
They were not allowing us to get good looks from 3. Where were the back door cuts? The pump fakes? The paint touches? Ball movement? I saw a weave and 3 point shots from deeper positions. We have NO plan B. When our outside shots don't fall, we struggle to score.
That is why some of us think Wojo is a bad coach. He just doesn't have it and unfortunately never will.

My bad. I'd like 11-2. 10-3 is fine but would really like to win friday and protect home court.
I'll need to go back and look, but I'm pretty sure we did try to attack the rim several times during the 22-0 run. I remember Sacar missing a Layup. Markus missing several. Joey try to work inside but finding a brick wall. Kansas defended well and refs swallowed their whistles.
Good start to the season!
Only inexperienced, crap coaches would ever sit around and just watch as their team gives up a 15-0 run (that was me looking at you 2 nights ago, Chris Mack!).
