Marquette sent out a survey to season ticket holders today regarding the FF experience so far.
My two cents....
1. Turn off the frickin A/C;
2. Remove the microphone from the hand of the female mc.
It seemed to me both of those issues had been addressed prior to the last game. I didn't notice a steady breeze out of the north, and she wasn't screaming into the microphone against Presbyterian.
However, the find the money blindfold bit did hold up the game, effectively changing the momentum into MU's favor. So, now I'm a big fan of hers!
First game we've been to this year. If the female mc issue got fixed, then I am glad I missed the first 2 games. That is just plain awful. My wife was holding her ears.
The look on Sam Hauser's face while they were waiting on the floor for that stupid skit to end was priceless...

I listened to Homer for the PC game. I could hear that lady screaming over Homer for one of the promotions. Hearing that alone tells me nothing was fixed.
As far as the A/C goes, that is great to hear...however I'm still skeptical it's been resolved.
Good job by MU getting feedback though. Between the pricing process and this, you can't say they haven't made it possible for us to give feedback easily.
Feedback is important, so fill it out!
If MCs are here to stay, why can't they be rotating students from the College of Communication?
If the question was simply whether you wanted an MC or not, would anyone (other than the MC) say yes? I have never talked to ANYONE who actually liked the MC at a basketball game.

They had a floor MC off and on the past few years. Have you talked to anyone who actually dislikes it?

MCs are turrible.
They've almost managed to turn an MU game completely into a Bucks game.

I mentioned that between the weak-armed cheerleaders and the poorly placed parachute launchers, no one in the upper deck has a prayer of getting a t-shirt.

If you want a t-shirt the place to be is sec 114 rows 20 and higher. Every 3 that MU made....the girl can out of the tunnel and threw 2-3 T-shirt's to sec 114. Next time down, MU hits a 3......girls starts chucking T-shirt's. I'm not exaggerating when I saw her throw 20+ T-shirts.

They pick a new section for that every game.
Outside of the bowl, the FF is very underwhelming.
What happened to the 1st timeout Dance Party?
VS. Carroll, the music was loud and it was dark for the entire timeout.
In each game since, the student sections have been lit up, and the music has gotten lamer, quieter, and for a shorter duration. Soon, we will be turning additional lights on, and having a moment of silence.
LAME that we can't do something cool and unique for 1 timeout a game, because a few sweater vests complained.

I think this has more to do with NCAA rules than sweater vests. Turning the lights off during a timeout could prevent coaches from being able to actually coach.

That would explain why it was only done for the exhibition game... Too bad, I thought is was pretty cool, and so did my kids.

Exactly. How will our players know they're in the bonus if we're turning lights off during timeouts?
It was done vs. UMBC. Much more muted against PC.
Wasnt able to attend the game vs. BCU

It was against ncaa rules. They also turned off the mics that pumped crowd noise in (thank god)

Have to think it was a safety issue for fans too. No aisle lighting, and there was no warning for fans the first time out.

Well, this doesn't have much to do with the survey for the most part, yet why is it underwhelming?
Panorama Club is outstanding! Suite area is very sharp! Concourses are nice. Bathrooms are nice. TV's all around are sweet! Bar area theme is great.

Let's do what we do best...complain
My bathroom (Sec 120) has holders where garbage cans should go (right below the paper towel dispensers, but no garbage cans. There is only one garbage now and it's a cluster, especially if you walk out the other way
The food can be very spotty. And it should be, it's mass produced for 16,000 people but you do get your hopes up when you see Sobelman's (bun is solid, burger always over-cooked).
$10 cans of beer kill me
Sodas should come with lids + straws. It's a kids spill waiting to happen.
Many, many, many TV are tuned to other things. And that's fine. But when I'm standing in line for 27 minutes at Cedar Crest Ice Cream and the 6 TVs don't have the MU game on, it's frustrating. On Saturday we grabbed Chick Fil a + Sobelmans and ate at tables near there and the two TVs in front of us had non marquee college football on.
IMO, the best part is the development outside and the bowl is pretty sweet too. But the thing has warts and it feels like no media member will critically review the place.
I agree not having lids & straws is very weird. While, the bathrooms are very nice, the can placement is just weird. Someone also needs better control on what network the TV's should be on. Not sure NBA TV at a noon game when zero NBA games is on, is the correct pick. Having NBCSN for Nascar is plain stupid. Having ESPN2 for Harvard/Yale is odd. No FOX, for Michigan State/Nebraska. No ABC for Ohio State/Maryland. No ESPN or FS1 was on. All fixable!!
I was strongly against the idea of an on campus arena but the Forum is starting to make me rethink that.
I thought the survey was perfectly timed. Marquette and the FF are obviously working to get things right and feedback after 4 games is a good idea. Turning down the mic for the woman MC was my suggestion. My ears hurt when she is yelling into the mic.
I think the FF is awesome and am amazed at the complaints. I am looking forward hearing how loud it gets for a really good game, like K-State and UW. With so many more people on the lower level, it should get loud and be a great home court.

I'm with you on that...big games look to be incredible.
Even still, buy games are still good the reconfiguration of the bowl + the student section all on the lower + the tarps makes it a good feel.
My complaints are more coming from a standpoint that MKE media tells us it's perfect when in reality, like anything new, it has some work to do. We all would be better if we acknowledged that.
As Nielsen said, all fixable.

I'm also very surprised at all the complaints. I've never been to a stadium that I was more impressed with. Yes, beer is expensive, but the selection is better than most places. And sure, you can get a better burger at the real Soblemans, but we still have a freakin' Soblemans in the stadium, along with several other options in addition to just nachos and hot dogs. I'll take all that as a plus.
My primary complaint so far has just been that everything is so loud, which is not something I say very often. Microphones seem to be the worst offenders here, but even music at times can be over the top. I also had to give the band a sub par rating since it was on the questionnaire. I don't know what's going on this year, but they've really struggled. Even for those who aren't musically inclined, the mistakes are pretty obvious. Hopefully they have their own Joe C moment soon too.

I think the interior of the stadium looks cheap. The concession stands are very nice but the concourses themselves look cheap.
I will say the seating bowl is fantastic though. They did that right.

What in particular looks cheap? Genuinely curious. I haven't noticed but will keep my eye out for it next week. My biggest complaint was the escalator wait but now we use the stairs and they are empty.

I would take anything what the media feeds us with a grain of salt. They are just repeating what Bucks President, Peter Feigin is saying.
Problem is, the things the common fan will never be apart of at Fiserv Forum that are world class compared to the Bradley Center are the locker rooms, media rooms, suites, lofts, concert dressing rooms.

I've had multiple back of house tours so I do appreciate how much better it is. Having worked a traveling tour, I recognize how great the 6 indoor truck bays are for getting real acts. And that stuff does trickle down because the shows offered become better.

Supposedly the owners saw original which was on par with the BC and wanted it to match 1st level (which is terrazzo). And that was a big cost they were willing to take on. I don't know if that upgrade ever ended up happening.

I can honestly say I've never thought about the floors of the concourses once in any of my times in that building.
I think of floors all the time. The terrazzo floor in the lobby they brought back at the old MECCA, UWM Panther Arena looks outstanding! I love the floor in the 2nd level at Fiserv Forum with the black that adds well with the lighting.

That is something that is never said about Fiserv Forum is the new docks. FF is well over 40+ shows that BC can't get. From UFC, WWE, Eagles, Bob Seger, Elton John, Kiss, Pink, Cher, etc. All these acts skipped Milwaukee.

WWE is always in Milwaukee.
For those complaining about the food prices in the FiFo, I can report that you get crappier beer in smaller cups at the Barclays....and it costs $14. Also, the only food item under $10 that I could find were some french fries....which came out cold and stale. When I complained they took them in the back and brought me new ones....which were also cold and stale.

It just looks like plain white drywall everywhere. Some of the concession stands are beautiful, but the walls and floors themselves just look cheap.
The Bradley Center may have been dated but it didn't look cheap and had some character.

I would agree. It was well built. Some of the stuff in the FF is really cheap. Those cup holders in the seats won't last very long, for instance.
Cup holders in our section are only an inch or so deep. Don't know how they are supposed to "hold" anything.

Yep, all the way back in April 8th, 2003. I'm talking about the now, not 15 years ago. The Bradley Center was lucky if it got 5 concerts per year over the past bunch of years now.
