Interesting read, but I still predict a Warrior win. Sonoran Salsa will help on Wed night.
Interesting plan about making howard pass. Could be a bit night for Sam

That's my expectation. They'll try to take Markus away which should open up opportunities for Sam and the rest of our shooters.
I love Howard. Think he's amazing. But this is a great plan by IU. To be honest, Howard is not a great passer, and "building a wall" around him like Archie states at the half court will only lead to lots of TO's.
Sure he has played solid PG early this season against cupcakes. But anytime they played stiff competition last year with good sized talented guards, it was TO city for Howard. That makes me nervous. Which is why I feel we should start JoeC. Someone with length with known (albeit spotty and a rough start to the season) passing ability.
I also think it is a good game plan, and I will be interested to see how Wojo counters it and how Markus attacks it.
We have other shooters -- Sam obviously, but also Joey, Cain, BB, even Sacar. We also have others capable of initiating the offense -- time for JCS to step up, but Sam is an excellent playmaker and Joey has shown ability there too.
Excellent early test of our lads, including our coach. A loss (even a decisive one) won't mean we're doomed, nor will a win (even a resounding one) mean we're great. But the game definitely should offer a valuable look into what we need to do to be great.
Hopefully not a turnover fest by MU.
MU wood have a bedder chance if T-Cubed wuz still da IU coach, aina?
We have lots of other dangerous offensive options besides Markus. Sam, Jamal, Brendan and Joey all hit from around 40% or better from outside. If Indiana devotes so much attention to Markus, somebody's gonna be wide open.
Sam starts bringing ball up. That will confuse them, pass to Joey Theo or Morrow below basket and Markus in wing, Sacar ready to slash if Markus doble teamed.

If that happens, I think we have the Shooters beside Sam to help cover for Howard.

Yea, I'd get Sam the ball in the middle of the court or at the free throw line and let him distribute or shoot.

I mean, I'd get Sam the ball anywhere on the court and trust that he'd make the right play.
No one should have the mindset that they have to score X amount of points to get the win. It should be "we" as a team need to get X number of stops. This game, just like every other game this season will come down to how well we can defend.
My concern is Markus will try to get his regardless.

Maybe we find that answer in this Game.

Markus does and should have the ultimate green light.
Markus "getting his" makes everyone else's lives easier.

Markus making the right play gives this team the opportunity to excel. That maybe a 3, that maybe finishing at the rim (which he has done a great job this year),that maybe
Finding the open man and getting the ball to him in a spot to score.
If they try to wall Markus, we've already seen how good Sam is at helping press break and Joey is an exceptional ballhandler for his size. You could even run a lineup with Chartouny in there and have 4 viable guys on the court to get into the offense.

Markus has earned the green light. However, getting his within the framework of a team offense is what will make everyone else's lives easier.
If Markus is covered tightly but keeps hoisting 'em, and goes 2-for-12 as he was in Game 1, it will make the Hoosiers' lives easier because he will be playing right into their hands.
Here's hoping he plays a great team game AND shoots well whenever he has a little daylight.
That said, there no doubt will be several possessions in which he will have to hoist a low-percentage shot -- shot clock running down, nobody else can get open, end of half, etc. And I also am a big believer in "heat check" shots as long as they aren't too crazy.
