18) Ed Morrow, Marquette (Nebraska)
Morrow will bring some toughness, and he's a guy who will rebound and also finish around the bucket. He's different than most of Marquette's other frontcourt guys, and that's why he should be on the floor plenty. Morrow averaged 9.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game two years ago at Nebraska, and could put up similar numbers this season.
19) Joseph Chartouny*, Marquette (Fordham)
The Canadian guard should help Marquette on the perimeter with his versatile game. He averaged 12.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game last season and will give Marquette a seasoned guard who knows how to play.

I believe that Morrow is the key to success this season. He is exactly the type of player needed in the front court. Losing Rowsey is going to make a bit more difficult for Howard and Sam to get as many open looks, and having a presence in the front court should open things up a bit for them.

Agreed. I also think he is vastly underrated around here. It may take some time for him to fit into what Wojo wants to do on offense, but I think by BE season, if he can stay healthy, he is going to be a big time difference make for the boys.
I'm just glad we have somebody who, if an opponent beats our perimeter guys and drives to the hoop, will put a hurtin' on the opponent. I don't mean anything dirty, just good physical play.

I think we now have 2 of those guys. Morrow + Theo

I believe Morrow will prove to be a much more versatile player than Theo. Being a physical force is one thing, but having ability to score in different ways opens the court up much more. Unless Theo improved big time in the summer, I do not expect him to be a versatile scoring threat.

Former MU recruit Marial Shayok is number 7 on list. He transferred from UVA to MU West ( Iowa State)
Chartouny is more important. Take Morrow off the team. Sam, Cain, Joey, Bailey, Anim, Theo, Matt, Ike could all play that position. Take JC off the team, now that Elliott is injured, and how does the guard situation look? Chartouny is a linchpin. Morrow is a forward on a team of forwards with more toughness and physicality than most.
Between Morrow, Theo, Matty and Ike, we have plenty of guys who can go in and play 'hack-a' if that ever becomes necessary.

That move Theo made in the NIT, with the behind-the-back dribble and burst of speed to the rim make me hopeful that Theo has the capability of improving quite a bit. Granted, he didn't complete the play, but he showed the athleticism and ability to operate away from the basket that lead me to believe he'll be more than one dimensional.
