The women's team finished tied with DePaul in the Big East Coaches' poll for Big East champions. Both DePaul and Marquette received 5 first place votes and 77 points overall. There is a clear top two with Villanova coming in third with 57 points.
In addition, Allazia Blockton was selected unianimously as the Preseason Player of the Year. She was one of four Golden Eagles to be named to the 11 person All-Big East Team. Erika Davenport, Natisha Hiedeman, and Amani Wilborn were the other three. No other team had more than two players represented.

If both the men's and women's team plays up to expectations, we are going to be in for some great basketball this season.
That is great to hear! Go Marquette!
Anyone see how the voting shook out? Just wondering if Chloe Marotta got any looks for FOY.
Honestly, I know nothing about the incoming talent league-wide, though, so it may not be a surprise if she didn't.
DePaul's boosters should start funneling money to their women's program. A couple of illegal recruits could vault them into elite status.
Could legitimately be a top 10 team if the transfer did not have the kidney issue. Really unforunate all around.

For sure. McCoy was supposed to bring the one thing last year's team lacked: size. Blockton and others are great playmakers, but they got bullied by bigger teams in the non-con and then in the NCAA tournament. Did Coach Kieger bring in any other reinforcements to bolster the front line?
