Title: How Many Home Games?
Post by: MUBigDance on October 24, 2018, 01:51:26 PM
Curious about two things here...do Scoopers go to the tune-up game?...and do we plan to go to the home games? Life is busy and choosing MU basketball on a weeknight or weekend sometimes is tough.

I intend to run another poll at seasons end asking the same question in hindsight. Just curious.

I want to go to a bunch...will see if I make it.

You'll get some skewed answers. If I lived within 100 miles I'd probably go to all of them. I will probably only make it back for 2 or 3.

IDK if we've ever had 'perfect' attendance but we usually get pretty close.  And we're going to Carroll primarily because we want to experience the new digs.

That's legit...Its about intentions vs actual.

So for example, if there is an MU fan in CA that intends to go to 1 while here for a wedding, say...but maybe we make a run and he makes an effort and gets to 3...that's an interesting data point.

maybe it won't go anywhere...just curious.  Thanks.

Season tickets for first time in quite awhile and expect to attend 10-12, depending on my travel schedule. With three grown sons in town, I would assume are seats will be close to 100% attendance this year.

Hope to make NMD game if class of '83 can get tickets. Takes me about 9 hours traveling and cost of plane tix (use apple wallet  :D for tix) + hotel.

going to try to make a game over christmas break

I should be at all but Carroll (not skipping a grad class for an exhibition) and Bethune-Cookman (will be in Vegas)

Does the Final Four count as a home game? Because that's the only one I will make without travel and lodging expense.

(P.S. - I have TWO guest bedrooms!)

Wife wants to go to Florida during 1-2 home games, so probably miss at least those.

I'll make at least one game on my coast, away game for the team but a home team for me!

5 games, plus the "home game" @DePaul. Plus probably the women's game @DePaul as well as it is down the street.

Wisco
Seton Hall
Nova
G’town

I’m also going to at Xavier and then hopefully Columbus for the tournament

Brew, ya gotta plan AROUND MU games.  Chick and I had two weeks tentatively picked out for a January vaca when plane tickets were on sale.  Booked tix on points (cancelable w/o penalty) for both weeks.  Hoops schedule come out....

One week 2 home games.  Second week no home games.

Done.

Same here. It's about 4 1/2 hours each way.

For me, it's plausible that I could more easily get to several NCAA tournament games. One of the opening sites is Des Moines (3 hours), and the FF is in MPLS (1 1/2 hours). And I have a daughter who lives within walking distance of the stadium in MPLS, so free digs!

I usually attend the Seton Hall game here in Jersey. It's on my bucket list to attend a game in Milwaukee. Perhaps next season despite the cold Milwaukee winters.

Blame the daughter, my wife wants to coordinate the vacation with her birthday.

Can't believe you didn't include "Brew is allowed to attend all MU home games" in the prenup........

I'm flying in from Arizona for the opener.  Gotta check out this new arena and see this team in action.  5th row, $100 on StubHub.  I can't wait!

Kudos to BPB for saving $$ for FF!

Also flying in, but from KC.  Gave my oldest his choice of games for his 12th birthday - MU vs KU in Brooklyn, MU vs KState in Milwaukee, or any Vikings game home or away.  he chose KState.

The kid will be a year old. She won't know the difference.

We celebrated Chick Jr's 2nd birthday a week early. Good thing we did, because Glow Jr was born on her real birthday.

Two kids with the same birthday? Had to have been a nightmare planning birthday parties growing up

Actually it was a breeze. We had combo parties.

I used to do a six pack as one of my residences is in the NOrth Suburbs of Chicago.

But since I now spend my winters as a Snowbird on the East Coast of Florida, I'll probably do two when I come back to Chicago for work in January and/or February.

I WILL be there this winter. The new arena is intriguing and the team is going to be really good. Just not sure when.

Now, if we would just play in a holiday tournament in Florida.....

My parents did this for my brother and me. We were born four years apart on June 27 and 29. We did Brewers tailgate parties where each of us could invite a couple of friends.

I live about a 2 1/2 hour drive away. Already bought plane tickets and hotel for the games in NYC with UL, KU and UT (my one annual out-of-town trip). Saturday home games are best for me beyond that, so likely K St, Rodents, Hall, nova, Gtown in the new place.

Didn't she give birth in a BC suite last year?  Give the lady what she wants.

strange thing....The Poll option for "0" has the text: "Going to Arby's"...I didn't put that in there. Don't mind, its funny. But interesting that it can be edited by someone else?

Hmmmm... Who has control of the entire site and is an Arby's fanboy?  ::)

So mysterious...

It's kind of funny...Mrs brew likes the idea of the photo op, but is definitely more interested in the vacation for her own enjoyment. She doesn't even really plan to do birthday parties and figures being out of town makes that avoidance easier.

Due to being locationally challenged we will not be attending any games this year.  Just thankful for high speed internet and Slingbox as it allows us to watch almost all of the televised games.
