The dudes at @mubbnation streamed the full 2nd half of the line scrimmage. For us out-of-towners, good opportunity to see the team in more than highlights and 2nd hand anecdotes. Thought I'd share.

Excellent, thanks!
Current starters vs. bench? Chartouney, Markus, Sacar, Sam, Heldt on dark it looks like. Joey, Brendan, Koby, Jamal, and Theo on white.
Markus's D on Koby looks good from the first few minutes. Sam is...Sam. Joey looks comfortable handling the ball.

That was my impression too. And through all the subs, the only constants were Markus and Sam. I think both will be seeing closer to 35 minutes than 30 this year.
I'm in the minority, but I also think Sacar will be 3rd on the team in minutes, just ahead of Chartouny.
So subs whipped the starters?
Where was Eddie?
Players were shuttled back and forth between teams........with the exception of Markus and Sam.
Why do folks always take video on their phone holding it vertically rather than horizontally for a wider aspect?

Appeared to be 3rd string center today
Did he play in the scrimmage at all? I only watched the one clip that Andrei linked to and he was the only non-injured scholarship player not to play. Wanted to make sure he's not hurting too
He played and appeared to be healthy
Here's the 40 minute version.

The grey team (Sam and Hauser) took it to the Navy team 45 to 27. So no, subs did not whip the starters.
The only 2 guys who were in the Grey team The whole time were Sam and Markus.
Everybody else just mixed and matched. No starters versus subs at all. Wojo trying out all combinations with our 2 stars.

It's taken me about a year of reminding my wife of this for videos we take.

Livin that IG / Snap story life.
The original thread shows tge second half video, in tge second half sam n markus switched from the winning side to the losing side. So if u watch tge original video first u would think that sam n markuss team was losing throughout. My brief takes:
Sam really good, great IQ and always gets open n makes the right play
Markus decent, seems to finally take some consideration into playing defense. Still had the head scratching 3-4 lose the ball or dribble it off his foot unforced turnovers
Sacar same as last year seems to be gaining confidence in his shot and settling into that role. Wish he shot better fts
Jamal really athletic, will need to play well in a dog fight for playing time.
Brendan very unassuming but really shoots the ball well. Seems to have a good iq, like jamal more strength will help.
Theo and heldt both played well, nothing spectacular and both looked extremely comfortable.
Joey big strong kid. Needs to find his way. Hasnt developed that IQ of jyst always being in the right place as his brother, but he can make plays. Will struggle with speed of game initially.
Ed morrow. Really struggled versus theo and matts size. Will need to be a junkyard dog on defense and could get lost in our perimeter based offense. Got ball on block a few times n got smothered
Joseph
Played solidly, similar to sam in that hes not incredibly athletic but makes up fir it in iq. two silly turnovers. Solid passer and defender, good strength and size.
Mcewen dribbles alot n a lot if shake and bake but needs to learn to do something with it. Kind of sloppy play. Big strong athletic. Season off will prolly be great for him. Nba talk hugely off base off this one scrimmage. Has talents needs to learn how to use them and make his teammates better, year with joseph and MUs pg staff should do wonders.
Eke n greg dnp
Overall would have really like to see greg out there. Team shot a huge percentage if threes. That can happen in a scrimmage like that tho. Free throw shooting was terrible. Will miss rowsey on offense. Team not very athletic, but will play at a higher iq than most if not all our opponents. Need someone to be a scorer along with markus and Sam. Very deep but who will step up and stand out??

Good to get your views. Thanks for taking the time.
In Marquette's 10 worst FT% games over the past 17 years (all sub-43%), they are 5-5.

Who stood out as not being very athletic?
Jamal, and Brendan need to put on some weight, but you don't need to be Theo level thick to be athletic. By all accounts, this should be Wojo's most athletic team.

Compared to Dominic James or Vander Blue, for example, Joseph and Markus are not amazing athletes. They don't possess superior speed, quickness or jumping ability. My impression is that Joseph's strong defense is due more to effort, positioning, long arms, physical play and anticipation.
I'd say the team's best athletes are (in no particular order) Kobe, Jamal and Brendan. Both Jamal and Brendan can sky.
Sam won't blow anybody away with his speed or jumping ability. No one would confuse him with Miles Bridges. I'd say he's a good athlete, not a great one. Excellent body control, probably quicker than he looks (Big Smooth is such a perfect nickname), but also a very smart player with incredible anticipation to get a hand on a pass or be exactly where he needs to be at any given time. Can't forget that we haven't seen Sam 100% healthy during his time at Marquette.
For his position, Matt is probably a below-average athlete: slow, struggles with lateral movement, not much of a vertical game. He's all effort and focus, another very smart player who might be the best on the team at defending without fouling. Ed is a bull, but I haven't seen much in the way of a vertical game (dunking or blocking shots). Theo is a good athlete, could be special. Haven't seen enough of Ike to say much at this point.
Overall, I think you're correct, though -- top to bottom, this looks like Wojo's most athletic team.
Imo
Excellent athletes none( maybe jamal)
Good athletes
Jamal
Koby
Greg
Theo
Eke
Average
Sacar
Marcus
Ed
Joey
Sam
Brendan
Below average
Joeseph
Matt
I think that puts us a little less athletic than top 50 type teams. I think we have a higher iq, play a good brand of offense, have good experience, but our best athletes dont play a ton either so as a reault we are a little under athletic but have some other positives to make up for it
I'd bump Eke up to excellent (when he's healthy) and Ed up to good. Other that I agree.
If we're comparing them to NBA athletes we have 0 elite athletes. For BE hoops level I'd say Eke, Jamal, and Greg are excellent athletes, but none are strong so some of that gets negated. I look at strength and athleticism as two separate things.

Yes. Folks are underestimating his loss. This is not a very long athletic team w/o Greg. Lots of skill, but need bouncy guys like Greg.
