Been a tough few weeks for Marquette basketball. Three deaths in the last two weeks.
RIP Coach Winter

Lived a great life. Sad to see a part of MU history passing .
RIP Tex.
One of two head coaches who won a national title for MU. RIP
Winter worked as a basketball coach for more than 60 years. He still owns the record for most league titles (eight) in Kansas State history -- a mark that's stood for a half-century. He literally wrote the book on the triangle offense, eventually teaching it to Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan. Quite the career and life.

V.G. Bio. in yesterday's NYT. Even nods to M.U..
Nice story about his celebration of life held Saturday. He once attended a MU Clib of Kansas City picnic and brought some of his championship rings. He spoke highly of the treatment he got from the Jesuits while at MU.
