Wahoo!
Any boots?
That looked like a defensive drill. Couldn't have been our team, we don't do those.
I really hope this is the start of something big. The past few years have been disappointing. I hope Wojo makes this happen.

Brendan Bailey is going to be huge for us defensively. I know that some don't see him having a big role initially, but his effort and ability/length on D is going to garner him more than a few minutes.

I genuinely hope you are right but I always recall the words of St Alfred, "The best thing about freshman is they become sophomores..."
We always project too much from casual and uninformed observation. My hope for Bailey is that he is in the rotation by his junior year.
"After being banged-up at the end of last season, the entire #mubb roster was full-go for the first practice of 2018-'19. It's the best time of the year - hoops is back!!"
So Sam is fully participating? How good is that?
Have they started practicing free throws yet?
Love the ryan amoroso contribution!!!

The LAX team is installing the FT defense.

Excited to see if the Chaluparena offers a more advantageous FT defense like the Al had for the NIT
Where are the bricks?

Bailey will be a very big part of what we do from the jump.

I would say watching the videos that his body has matured and he is ready to play. It will be interesting to see how he uses Cain, Joey and Bailey.

No he won't. The kid hasn't played live basketball in 2 years, just give him time.

I have only heard great things about Bailey so I would expect him to be in the rotation right away. This whole "he's been away from basketball for two years" is really overstated. BYU and Utah both regularly have students join the team after mormon missions and become instant starters. The kid did not forget how to play basketball in two years.
Wojo did an interview with Dennis Krause talking about the new players.
Said they were surprised that Bailey had very little rust. You can read the interview on Dodd's site.
Reading between the lines it looks like they are expecting both Joey and BB to be players this season.
Ike's comments were that he is still a developing player and he missed all the work his redshirt year because of the injury.

This rust thing is way out of hand for Bailey. He has been playing for 6 months now. Body is much bigger, probably was not ready 2 years ago to play since he
looked as skinny or skinnier than Elliott. You do not lose your shot, either you can shoot or not. Now, playing in a real game might show some inexperience on his
part, like a big free throw, but that can happen to any freshman.

^^ Exactly right. And BB is the LAST guy, personality/character wise, that you'd expect to lose focus and let things slip to the point where he can't get geared up for bball over 6+ months of prep time. His bigger issue is just being new to college basketball, but he'll be fine. One of many in the mix for earnings nice minutes.

Right... He never touched the ball in 2 years. Not once. Didn't keep in shape either.
Were basically getting a junior with a freshman status.

Fun fact: Brendan Bailey is already older than Markus Howard will ever be in a Marquette uniform (barring an unforeseen redshirt).
That MU is practicing should be the major sports story in town....Milwaukee's only team when there was no pro basketball or baseball in town, and the only team that will not pack up and head for some other town.
Other than the Brewers in the playoffs, the Packers, the new arena.

So, he gets the easy dunks.
If he wasn't rusty, he could have gotten over without the extra little push. ;D
Brendan, Jamal and Kobe were doing three-point shootaround drills together before the open practice. I had a hard time telling which was the best shooter. Brendan seems to jump forward more after his shot than some other players. He can probably work on squaring up after running to his spot, as well. But he hasn't forgotten how to put the ball in the hoop. He can contribute.
