At Marquette, a new arena is built to be the program's — and Steve Wojciechowski's — forever home
MILWAUKEE — After trading the sweat-logged practice T-shirt and shorts for a tidy blue polo and slacks, and after inhaling a salad out of a plastic container in an auxiliary locker room, Steve Wojciechowski begins his four-hour stint as gracious host. Typically, the Marquette's basketball coach would be the marquee attraction at a Marquette basketball open house teeming with fans and lookie-loos. When the house is worth $524 million and is in the running for best basketball arena known to man, however, everything and everyone else is just furniture....[Click for more] (https://theathletic.com/506838/2018/09/07/at-marquette-a-new-arena-is-built-to-be-the-programs-and-steve-wojciechowskis-forever-home/)
For those with an Athletic subscription, they have a nice piece on Wojo and the new arena.

"I have a great job," Wojciechowski tells The Athletic. "And I had a great job before this was built. I work with great people. The people I work for are wildly supportive. Basketball is tremendously important. And this is a place that's attractive to high-level kids and players. This is just another pillar. This is a job you can stay at forever."

Great minds, eh?
"This is a job you can stay at forever."
Is this the new "I'll stay here as long as they'll have me"?
I have clicked on the Athletic's CBB page every day this summer, hoping "today was the day" that MU would get an article (they seem to be set on featuring every relevant CBB team). Nice to see today is the day.
You can't beat The Athletic's coverage of college hoops. Highly recommend.

Damn! Got me by 2 minutes haha.
I like Wojo's quote about the importance of home court advantage:
"It can be the difference between winning and losing. And winning and losing a game can be the difference between going to the NCAA tournament or winning the Big East...That's how important fans are. We want them to be part of the action...Not that it didn't happen at the Bradley Center. But we want it to happen all the time."
"Fiserv Forum is both inarguably dazzling and all but faultless in a practical sense, designed specifically to create an intimate, supercharged college atmosphere despite a 17,000-plus seat capacity."
Thank you Bucks Owners!

If he's trolling our past presidents, clearly he already has one foot out the door.
