Title: Scouting from the enemy
Post by: mu03eng on March 20, 2018, 08:44:19 AM
Black Shoe Diaries is the Scoop of the Penn State realm. Below is a link to the article previewing today's game. All I can say is I hope the PSU coaching staff is using as a scouting report, cause PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE press Marquette, especially early.

LOL that they spend the whole article talking about how "manageable" the game should be, then predict a 20-point loss.

Whoever wrote that article... Did they even watch the game? Oregon pressed for pretty much the entire game haha

The press worked to allow them to get back in once our team was tired and in foul trouble. I find it hard to believe a team with 6 players will be able to press us all game long, and by the time it pays off, we'll be up 20.

Hope their prediction of final score is corr t, but I think this will be a much closer game.
We need to establish an inside game vs them, which will open up our 3s.  They are a pretty good defensive team, beat OSU 3 times I th8nk and ND.   We will need to stop their 3s and rebound.

Go Marquette!

I agree with Brew.  It was our extreme foul trouble, weird end of game lineup, and a little 'taking the air out' that allowed the Ducks to chip away.  Realistically we maintained a solid double digit lead throughout.  Let 'em press.  We've worked many of those kinks out.

Trust me, Penn State is not a basketball school so their level of knowledge is really not great. If the want to press with a 6 man rotation we win by 30

I wouldn't count our win until the 40 minutes are over.  Penn St. beat a #1 see on their home court.  I imagine they will be a very worthy opponent.  I hope we are ready.

I had to look at their schedule only to realize you were referring to ND. Alas...
