Any MU scooper here bold enough to admit they bought tickets and have them up on StubHub? Just curious if anyone has the balls.
They aren't on scoop. Most likely guys who buy the cheapest possible season tickets for like $100 for all games in the very last row. That gets them access to buy (and resell) tickets on the ticket exchange during the season and events like this. F'n parasites.
I got a student ticket for Oregon, then couldn't find anyone else with a ticket to go with me, so I sold it. I was gonna use the $ to buy a ticket in South Bend, but that didn't happen.
I got a student ticket again for Tuesday, but I'll be there this time.
Once again, by the time 3pm came, sold out. SMH just pitiful

Same here. If there is anyone with a single ticket available for purchase, I would happily take it off your hands.

People in the $100 seats didn't get a chance to buy these tickets. I can't imagine anyone with 75 points or more sitting in those.

Ummm yeah. Peterpan is way waaay wrong.
I'm
One of those $100 a season seats guys because I'm a new grad and have student loans to pay off. And my time slot was 3pm with a Whopping 13 points. So maybe chill on us low life new grads. How about pointing the finger at the likely culprits who got actual seats in the 9a-11a time slot.
Is it a bummer you (and I and many others for that matter) didn't get tickets? Yup it sucks.
But don't go pointing fingers at the newgrad STH's.

Yep. And thanks for staying engaged. Your time will come! I do think they could have limited it to 4 tickets initially but that's splitting hairs.
In this iteration, LOTS of 75+ point folks didn't get any. Great to be playing March hoops!

And it's not just the $100 ticket holders that didn't get a chance. I've been a STH for 8 years and am in donation-required lower level seats with 49 points. I didn't get a chance to buy for PSU, so it's pretty safe to say no one in the minimums got that chance unless they've been in those seats since the Eddie Hickey days.

Why? Should you have the right to get one of my two? Now I will say that limiting it to the number of STHs one has is a legitimate position. But we heard that was logistically difficult. At least they lowered the cap to 4.

The way they handled this was fine. I wanted to get tickets, but they laid out how it would be handled. I did have significant issues with them opening the 3:00 purchasing window early on Thursday, but I always knew I might not get seats to some of these. As I rewatch the Oregon game, I'm debating how much tickets tonight are worth to me.

Yep, a couple tweaks but overall handled quite well. Hope to see you there tonight!

So if you have 2 season tickets, those 2 extra if U got them are not accessible to me? Logistically difficult? This is 2018, I would think there is a way to handle this type of scenario, but I digress. Enjoy the game!!!

It will be a moot point going forward, anyway.
Next year and afterwards, you will just have to fight the high-point folks for the good seats in the designated Marquette section at the NCAA. ;)
I posted this in the other thread, but it bears repeating.
By 11am the ~1000 lower bowl (non-student) seats were not available for 200+ point holders, who could only get GA tickets at that time. This was not the case for the previous 2 games. (Where the max was 6, no less.)
That means the 9-11am slot took all 1000. (or not.) How many 750+ point accounts are there? I have a sheet from the reseating in 2014 that showed there were 60. Let's say that's grown to 100 and all of them took the max 4 .. but that would only take up 400 of the 1000 seats.
So .. something seems screwy. Like ~500 seats are missing and it pushed everyone down the totem pole, and 500 STHs out of the building.
It will be very interesting to see who's in those seats. Wojo bought what, 500 seats for each of the first two games to give to students? Is it possible he doubled that for the PSU game to get as raucous an environment close to the court as possible? Does anyone know how many student seats were available or if any students got seats in the chairback sections?
Wojo gave out 750 tickets for the Penn State game FYI

I have 2 theories.
A. Marquette will have a full ring student section for this game.
B. They sold the tickets to some organization.
I really hope it's a.

Agree totally. We'll report back tonight. Now lots of folks (chick included) got the initial 'Sold Out' message only to be able to get GAs with a simple refresh. So I wonder it that had something to do with it. Let's sincerely hope they got all 3700 distributed.
Again, if STHs and students are missing out because some a-hole wants to make a buck on stubhub, that's freaking obnoxious.

The guy currently selling 2 GA tickets for 185 each is the scummiest of scum.
Thanks to an MUScooper, I have 4 tickets for myself, and 4 for my wife's MU roommate.
I explained they were going for $150 on StubHub, so if I let her have them for $10, she owed me $140 of extreme fan insanity. $140 of screaming and foot stomping. When the ref makes a call against us, people should have to refrain her from assaulting the refs.
She agreed.

Well played topper.
The "Trail of Tears" in the Trading Post of hardcore MU hoops fans without tickets is sad...especially in light of the Stub Hub activity. As stated, it will be interesting what MU did to expand the student ring.

I'm not standing up for the guy, but it takes two to tango. So just as scummy is the person who buys them for $185. Otherwise, the price would drop to more reasonable levels.
I'll admit that I was one of the StubHubbers on Sunday... I had two extras and needed to offload when someone backed out on me Sunday morning, so I put them up for $40/ea (partially in anticipation that I was going to get shut out at the box office for tonight and have to purchase off StubHub myself).... the listing lasted all of 5 minutes, which I'll also admit made me feel quite dumb insomuch that I likely just sold to a scalper who was going to turn around and sell them for $60+ on the street.
Cheapest tix I saw on StubHub yesterday were $75, but those are long gone. If it's any concession, I'm not paying $100/ticket even though I'm gearing up to drop $400 x (2 + the quantity of offspring who can sit in their goddamn seats for a whole game) on a plane ticket to NYC in 12 hours.

The 750+ window also included preferred STH's (who drop $3000+ each on their seat donations)... that's basically everyone courtside and behind the bench/score table; something like 200-300 seats right there, probably a good mix of 2's and 4's (so say on average 3 per account), that's another 65-100 accounts right there in the 750+ window.
I would estimate 95% of the preferred accounts bought the max (why the hell pay that much for preferred if you're not going to buy tickets to which you're entitled)... so that's 250-500 seats spoken for right there on top of the 400 you're earmarking for the straight-up 750-pointers.
There are 6 GA tickets available on StubHub for $65/each right now, if people are looking that seems somewhat reasonable.
There are currently 17 tickets on stubhub being sold by 8 people. Yes, they're scum, but this doesn't seem like a widespread problem.
Pretty sure Gruber's gonna have 'nough commercials tanite on da tube so all peasants have an equal opportunity ta watch ESPN, aina?
I saw a pair drop to $55 each (68 with fees) on StubHub and decided to ante up. I'll be there tonight. More than I wanted to spend, but those first two games were hella fun. Besides, I sold my Nova seats for $137 each, so I guess I just traded one of those for two of these.
I was lucky enough to have a buddy with an extra ticket.
I'll be standing behind the student section in a gold Trend Blackledge jersey! Best (general admission) seats in the house!

Although the lower bowl may have been gone by 11am, there were still 200-level reserved seats available.
As I stated in another thread, I had to move back five rows compared to the Oregon game, which was surprising given the reduction in the maximum ticket limit. With the students back, was their allocation increased? Or did more higher-point STH decide to go to this game?

I'm guessing a combination of both.
I for one really hope they line the first two rows of seat backs with students on each side. Create an atmosphere if that's what Wojo did with the extra 250 tickets he gave out.
(I do know he footed the bill for 500 student tickets the first two games, and what an awesome guy he is for doing that).
Having said that, how piiiiiissssed are sweater vests gonna be at Wojo if he does line those first two rows on both sides of the arena with students? Standing the whole game screaming?
That means everyone will have to stand the whole game. I for one LOVE it.

Did anyone try talking to the scalpers? If so, how much were they asking?
I heard one guy arguing with one I believe indicating his ticket was fake.
My retirement plan is to sell fake tickets. Print off the same PDF a few hundred times .. presto.
This works for Arby's coupons, too. Not that I've tried that a few times.
I did not run into any scalpers... out of sheer luck, I literally parked right across the street from the Al, so I was inside 30 seconds after I slammed the car door shut. Although, I did overhear someone inline at concessions talking about the scalpers and heard mention of $50; however, I don't know if that was the bid, ask or close.
