Question:
Who are you pulling for ND or PSU Sat ?
Option 1: ND - A renewal of the rivalry in South Bend
votes: 24
Option 2: PSU - A home game vs Penn State to get to MSG
votes: 84
All contingent on us beating the Ducks, of course...
As much fun as it would be to take on ND again, I think I'd like to see another home game.
Win-win, I suppose.
As much pleasure as I would derive from humiliating the Domers on their home court, I must go with the statisitical odds on this one.
Added plus - I am pretty sure I would be able to attend the game if it were at the Al.
When you want to get back to the Garden, you go with what gives you the best chance. So ND, of course. 8-)
No Dick a better team than us when healthy and on the road I dont like our chances. I will hope for 3 home wins n a trip to NYC
Cheering for Notre Dame would require me to cheer for Notre Dame. There are two problems with that.
First, if I cheer for them and we lose, I feel guilty for cheering for ND. It only pays off if we also win and then beat them.
Second, it would be cheering for ND. That's unacceptable unless they're playing Wisconsin. Since Wisconsin was ineligible for the NIT, that's simply unacceptable.
I still want to win this thing. Playing a weaker team at home is obviously a better way to do that.
The last time MU went to Indiana for the NIT, Uwe Blab and Steve Alford led the Bobby Knight led Hoosiers past the Warriors in OT. Of course, that was 1985, but I'd much rather host a game than go to Indiana again.
I would rather MU play at home if we are able to beat Oregon.

All that needs to be said
If Sam isn't playing, I don't think we beat NIT team.

I was at that game and had to drive home to go to work the next day. OT really sucked. Did we finish that game with only four players or we just close to having that happen?

Agreed.
What's the latest on his health?
PSU.
I don't want to lose to ND and they will beat us. PSU at home, much better option. Oregon will not be easy.
Fighting Irish or Fighting Sanduskies?
Irish have enough fans on 3/17. No reason to jump on the bandwagon.

Good point. Totally unacceptable.
ND sucks. Bring 'em on.

Marquette finished with four players, one of whom was the 5'8 walk on, Willie Hines.
St. Patrick's day, 1985. A Sunday. Came back from spring break. After the loss, went out and got the drunkest I have ever been. Can't stand the smell of Jack Daniels because of that night.

Yeah, once again No Dick and their arrogance gets the seeding to play all preliminary games on their homecourt, because the National Consolation Tourney wants to pull all the stops to ensure that no feather are ruffled with No Dick. Hoping somebody kicks their cocky asses.

Very true. But, seriously doubt the NIT gave any consideration to Bucky given the field available. 15-18 was not on the NIT's radar.
What day will the game likely be played on?
Tuesday
The concern with playing Penn St. of course would be the one that got away. Buzz Williams recruited big man Satchel Pierce to Marquette.. unfortunately he went with Buzz to VPI. The NCAA essentially makes it easy for incoming kids to break their contracts when a new coach arrives...
Pierce, a 23-year old junior, is 7'0" and over 250 pounds. Sounds nice.
(Amazing how awful his collegiate career has been. Just brutal.)

Has ND ever won on national TV in the Pea Greens?
PSU up 21-10 after the first half*

Marquette "gold" can be a little harsh...the ND pea green is downright offensive.
Joyce Center looks about 40% full at most.
Clearly because ND has better fans than MU, and they don't accept mediocrity!
The refs are actually making the correct calls on these player possession calls and the Domers (and announcers) are going crazy. Can't blame them as officials have consistently miscalled these all year, but it is great to see the Domers aren't getting the Homer treatment.

Of course No Dick gets a game on the flagship station....because it is No Dick....who ESPN slobbers over.
PSU up 14 to start 4Q. Excellent.
PSU up 50-36 after the 3rd half.
PSU Nailing some crazy long 3's.
Double digit lead in 4th qtr.
F ND
Psu starting to cave now. Hope they can hang.
Colson rehurts foot.
Hang on PSU. Then TCB tomorrow. We got this.
ND blows.
Colson is the final nail on their coffin.
Psu up 14 with 4:45 to go.
unnatural carnal knowledge ND.
ESPN announcers sure slurping the green koolaid though. How about the big "Not Done Yet" graphic that turns into the ND logo? Seem to be a little resigned, now, with Colson out.
Bret= hairy wet cat
speaking of Colson going down, any update on Sam and Jamal?
Now Gardner hurt bad for PSU as Grandpa Munster Brey gets teed up.
What's up with all these injuries in NIT games?
Against Notre Dame press, Penn State looking like Marquette against the Harvard press.

Rocky,
See "USC Players won't play in NIT" thread.
Aside from no dick fans does anybody like the river dancing No Dick leprechaun?
and there is your dagger!
Gardner back in...South Benders streaming out with 30 to go. Great salute to your seniors.
Mmm .. remember last night when they showed all those sad Virginia fans?
Sure would like to see a sad Notre Dame fan montage right about now.
It's official.
ND sucks
Frruck No Dick.
Nice path to the Garden. Let's hope we play focused and get some 'good Andrew' this week.
If Sam and Jamal don't play, it doesn't matter.
