Women's team up 35-23 in the second quarter on ESPN3 vs Dayton.
EDIT: 45-31 at halftime, MU over UD.
EDIT 2: 59-47 with MU still ahead about 3 minutes left in 3rd quarter
EDIT 3: 69-54 end of 3rd quarter
EDIT 4: MU 79, UD 59. Hiedeman has seven three pointers
EDIT 5: MU 84 , UD 65 FINAL
Hiedeman player of the game (what is equivalent of stud for women as I don't want to offend, but she was dominant). 32 points, 8 Three Pointers, 5 assists.
They had a slow start and then Natisha Hiedeman took over and scored 18 of their 22 points in the first quarter.
Go Marquette!

She's set two program records in this one - most 3's in an NCAA Tourney game - 6 and most points in an NCAA Tourney game - 26 so far.
I wouldn't mind seeing her score a few more here - Marquette is making me a tad nervous. Edited to add - that will be hard to do from the bench - forgot she's on the bench with 4 fouls :).
Congrats to Amani Wilborn who just became the 4th active Marquette player with 1,000 career points. Dani King has only 24 points to go to make it 5 players with 1,000 for MU.

Tough draw. At top seed 'ville at their court Sunday
Shot the three well, but they guarded like hell. Suffocating at times.
Congrats, ladies!

They have themselves to blame for the tough 8 seed partially though with no good non-conference wins and getting blow out in the BET final. They could have avoided the 8 seed with 1-2 good non-conference wins and think they would have definitely been a 7 had they not got blown out in that last game.
But it's good to see them get their first NCAA Tournament win since 2011.
And Hiedeman had a phenomenal game - a career high 32 points and program records for points and 3's in an NCAA Tournament game.
Go Marquette!
Carolyn's first post-season victory. Of course, not counting all those BET wins (cough).
Game was on ESPN2 in Milwaukee.
When is the game on Sunday, or when will we find out when the game is on Sunday?

I think they'll announce it later today after the other first round games are completed and ESPN decides what they want to put where on their schedule.

At least you didn't call her Old Lady of the Game.

It was supposed to be protected in the Milwaukee area on ESPN2 and everywhere else was supposed to be whip around coverage. But ESPN's version of whip around coverage is to shove blowouts down your throat so they can show the 'premiere teams' like Tennessee. I didn't have it on ESPN2 either but thought maybe it was because I have sling TV now - I watched it via watch espn. My Dad is in Cincinnati which is only 1 hour from Dayton and didn't have the game either - I would have thought being that close to Dayton he would have had the game.

I would think mare is the equivalent. That said, I don't think that would be very appropriate despite being the likely female comparison (with stud being a male breeding horse). Maybe queen? I looked up slang synonyms for woman and found a ton of less than flattering options.
EDIT: Maybe a female warrior term? Valkyries and Amazons come to mind.

Yep. I'm in Milwaukee.
Minnesota vs Green Bay is on now.
I honestly didn't know stud was a masculine term but I guess it makes sense with the whole breeding angle

We old timers can still teach young guns a thing or two every once in awhile. :D
Marquette will face #1 seed Louisville on Sunday at 11:07AM on ESPN2. It will be the only Women's game going on at that time so it will be on ESPN2 for everyone.
Come on Marquette - get the big upset!!!
Darn ... was hoping the game would be later, as I have to work Sunday morning into the afternoon. So I'll miss it. I don't even have a DVR, though it probably will be available to watch on ESPN3 when I get home.
I was very impressed with the Lady Warriors today. Some nice individual talent, good teamwork, tough D. Me likey!

Kind of what I thought to. Buddy of mine who is a UL fan (granted neither of us pays a ton of attention to the women's team, but enough to have some idea) thought UL would be 13; I thought they'd be 12.
