Title: What are the chances?
Post by: HelfaerWarrior on March 11, 2018, 02:39:15 PM
Now that all the spots are locked up.

I say 18% MU dances

82% we are NIT bound.

Thoughts?

You think the small major conference tournament winners are better than every team that does not make the NCAA Tournament? Agree to disagree I guess.

Can people really not wait for 3 more hours to complain? We'll know soon enough and then Scoop can explode. Does it really need to happen now?

Will Scoop surpass the "most on-line record"?

I really think it's two of MU, Saint Mary's, and OK. Someone will be left out and I hope it's not us

Left out of the NIT?

I do hope that most of these NIT comments are in jest. If we don't snag one of the final spots in the NCAA tournament, we will assuredly be one of the top 4-6 teams in the NIT.

Fans will watch since as bad as it has been they are still our team.

NIT.    Every single additional practice and win or else situation that we can get the 3 freshmen and 4 sophomores on this team, the better.   It is no longer about this season.    It is about building for 2018-2019.    5 games, a dozen practices culminating with a return to MSG.    Make some lemonade out of this lemon.

I think we will either:
1. Make the tournament
Or
2. Not make it.
If neither of those happens then I think Wojo has to be on the hot seat.

Sure there are a bunch of us who will enjoy it, it's not the CBI.  We will see what teams do not get an NCAA bid and there should be numerous teams that will have potential competitive matchups.

Like Tower said, the players will have some more experience playing in a win/go home environment, and they won't be using the "they are young/inexperienced" excuses next year.

1% chance.  Miracles Happen!

It's a disappointing season in that I hoped for better development from some of the players - and coach.  But the NIT is good experience for this team and sets the stage for the all important year 5.

As I was saying, find a way to make lemonade out of lemons.   Win the NIT with this ridiculously young team and use it as a stepping stone.

So if we make the NIT, then Rowsey should get less minutes since we need to get the frosh rolling.

It may be part of the strategy.
