All 68 teams will be announced at the beginning of the show, in alphabetical order. First the auto qualifiers, then the at-large teams.
At least we won't have to watch to the very end to see if we're on the right side of the bubble.
Not a big fan. I prefer the old school drama of going through bracket by bracket.
I also don't like this. Part of the fun of being on the bubble is the excitement as you go through the Selection Show of hoping to hear your name as each region is revealed.

As long as they would keep lenghy analysis till later. But yes, I agree, this unseeded list could be very weird.
If our name is called, I don't care how or when it happens—I'll be thrilled.
Do they focus group any of this stuff?
Ever since the Selection Show has gone to two hours, it's been a disaster.

Has it been a disaster according to ratings? That's all that matters, they don't care if we like it
Wouldn't shock me to see the bracket get leaked again.
Hopefully these changes are a disaster and they switch right back next year.
Do they not care at all about the people that have been watching this for years/decades? Just going to placate to the social media crowd from now on? I just don't see the point. Some of the best moments are the bracket reveal and watching the team go crazy... There will be no suspense anymore.

That I don't know. And even ratings are only part of the equation. Doubling the length of the show doubles ad time. Even a small ratings dip a little, the extra ad volume would more than make up for it.
But it's a short term money grab that could hurt in the long run. Alienating fans & failing to attract new fans will destroy sports in the long run.

Ratings have been all-time lows the last two years. Being on cable, I don't think that will change this year.
First team: Arkansas [Alabama players return to dorms after 5-second viewing].
Ohio State fans will think they are out until they get to the T's.

Change happens.
Two more things in life that are certain:
1) kids will walk across our lawns, and
2) TV will have to react to social media or be made irrelevent by it.

Exactly. The ratings have been poor because people can simply go online and see it fifteen minutes later.
This allows for two moments in intrigue. Does my team get in? If so, who do we play?
I get that people don't like change, but it's inevitable.
Wait! So will University of Tennessee be under "T" or "U"?

I'm a fairly reasonable person so I don't argue that change in general is expected. Even change just for change's sake is expected. Perhaps they made this change to drive a social media storm of any kind of emotions/thoughts regarding it, good or bad who cares. As we see in our current discourse, saying/doing dumb things is great for social media and therefore business.
Anyway. I think NCAA realizes that the regular season is for fans, but March Madness is actually mostly for non-fans. If viewed from this perspective, you can almost trick your brain into thinking that this all makes total sense. Anything that allows people to submit their bracket sooner is a win, probably.
What if they screw up and call us University of Marquette :P
