Michigan shredding them with the high pick and roll. There are many ways to defend it. None are guaranteed. Like any other defense, length and quickness matter.

Pretty sure you won't have to read posts here by those of us frustrated and skeptical of Wojo's coaching chops and our pick and roll defense - Once he has us in the Top 10 all year and 2 seed caliber in NCAA...like Purdue.
But, feel free to keep grasping at straws to try to excuse our now four years of crappy D under the floor slapper himself.
Love the offensive talent Wojo has assembled, but he needs to figure out a way to be at least Top 150 in D...if we want to be better than a mediocre Top 55ish type of program.

Well Basketball can be a love and Hate game. Some live with the Love, some with the Hate, and some just enjoy the entertainment that a Good roller coaster season provides.
Michigan runs the PNR offense about as good as anyone. Everyone can hit shot that's on the floor. Love Belien's game.
Really curious what the committee does with Detroit. Michigan, Michigan State, and Purdue can all lay claim to playing there, but only 2 will go. Purdue probably gets sent to Nashville (?).

Xavier also, and likely the highest seed with a claim there.
ners, I have described in detail what MU does in the pick and roll defense and where I believe the deficiencies are. I recognize the shortcomings. I also recognize that some defend it the same way MU does and have success doing it that way. Michigan shredded Sparty yesterday, and Sparty defends it similarly to MU. And Sparty has size and quickness throughout their line up. Sometimes, the pick and roll offense works exactly as it is designed even against good defensive teams. One reason it is run throughout the NBA. But I have not ever said that MU defends it successfully. And Purdue struggled today.

They can send X to Pittsburgh or Nashville and the difference isn't terribly dramatic.
