The Golden Eagles play today at noon Central on FS2.
Let's do this!
Let's do this girls!
Tame those dawgs!
They're not looking real sharp so far but there's still time - they trail 22-18 after the first quarter.
Go Marquette!
They had a little better second quarter but it's still way closer than it should be. Marquette holds a slim 33-32 lead at halftime. Marquette needs this game to avoid the dreaded 8/9 seed in the NCAA Tournament - Go Marquette!!!
If Markus Howard has a sister, the women's team cam use her! Looking good for them now. Butler must be exhausted trying to run with them.
73-61 win.
Survive and advance - it was ugly but they live to play another day. They'll take on the winner of Creighton-St. John's tomorrow at 3P Central on FS1. They split with Creighton (blew a game at home they should have won versus them) and swept St. John's with a close escape in OT at home.
A heck of a game by Amani Wilborn today - 26 points on 9-11 shooting from the field including 4 of 6 from 3 point range (she's not usually a great 3 point shooter) and she added 5 assists and 6 rebounds with only 1 turnover.
Wow those are amazing stats! Glad we could get the win and advance.
Great run to end the game - I believe we finished on a 19-6 run.
Congrats to the ladies!
24 RPI right now with a solid resume. Maybe with a run can get a 5 seed or better.
I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect a second weekend tourney run.

With no good non-conference wins and with the Big East not being very strong this year, I think 6 is about the best they get - maybe a 5 but that might be pushing it. They are projected as a 7 now and I was afraid they'd drop to an 8/9 if they lost today so glad to see them get it together and win that one.

Up by six at the half, BTW.

That ought to disqualify anyone from being a sports commentator.
Cray-in's hitting some deep 3s, though.

They are a great 3 point shooting team. I sure wish Marquette could put this one away soon but I'm guessing it will be a close one right down to the wire. Go Marquette!!!
Have been following every now and then throughout the season. Blockton is something else and this team is fun to watch! Considering making the trip down to Chicago tomorrow if/when they win this one.
I felt much better with a 12 point lead - Creighton can score in a hurry - the slim 59-55 lead heading into the 4th quarter makes me very nervous.
Just got home turned it on. Saw CU up 4 getting some easy buckets. Tied now.
This team suffers from the same issues game after game. Some players need to shoot less n some more. Tie game 2 minutes left, hedeman n wilborn should not be putting up no pass jacks without ever looking at blockton.
Call a timeout n 4 straight points from blockton!!!
Need to be smarter than that nnknow who ur all american is
Not to mention dont need no pass offenses in that situation
Oops, I was very worried I spoke too soon! :-X
Good D and feeding Blockton should get it done. Looks good under a minute. Fingers crossed

I'm still nervous especially after their collapse at the end of the game in Omaha last season.
Come on Marquette!!!
WOW! Marquette the beneficiary of another CU brain cramp!
A heck of a play to get a career high on - great job Blockton!
Potential "away" game against DePaul tomorrow. Should be a good one!
Nice job ladies! MU wins, gets to defend its title.
Great work ladies! See you there tomorrow to defend our crown!
Woo hoo! I will be there in person tomorrow. Who's with me?
BTW, the DePaul ticket website is the worst ever.
Might show up, how much are tickets?

Does anyone have information on the Marquette bus? Assuming they open it up to people who couldn't go the last two days.

Fifteen bucks. Plenty of good seats still available.
I don't want to drive down by myself but can't find any information on a bus trip. The original link to sign up starting with Sunday's game isn't working and MU's ticket office had tweeted out about tickets but I called and just get a recording they closed at 5P - was going to ask them about a bus trip. I guess maybe I'm destined to just scream at the TV but I seem to bring them more luck when I'm not watching in person though :).
Go lady Warriors!

Marquette is never truly "away" when we play DePaul in Chicago.
Hey, Chicago and Milwaukee folks! It's not too late to decide to go to the game!
And I am not kidding when I say there are still great seats available. I bought my tickets last night and I am in the equivalent of the sweater vest section at half court.
Also, there are official pregame festivities at Kroll's
http://www.krolls-chicago.com/
And I got parking a block or so away from Krolls through Spot Hero for $8.
Come cheer on our Big East Champion basketball team!
I really wish we could go. I don't even think I'll be able to watch on TV tonight. Suffice to say, we'll be otherwise occupied.

Perfect opportunity to introduce Microbrew to Marquette Basketball - even if she is just snoozing on your chest.

Let's win this one for Tori McCoy.

I love it too! We're at the hospital one more night, and I can't even watch the game because they only have ESPN for sports.
You have to plan ahead with these hospitals. There is always the Fox Sports Go App

AH, the first kid. Wait till the 3rd, you'll be outta there after day one. Wife and kid to follow. 8-)
Unless you are BeeJay, he finds out about his kids on Maury.

I don't want to come home to find all my stuff on the lawn. My presence the first night is the only reason Holly is still sane (took 4 hours of calming the agitated Microbrew so she could sleep).

:o
DePaul fans definitely not taking advantage of home court advantage the way we were able to last year.
As a senior last year I can confidently say that the championship game was in the top 5 exciting sports moments of my tenure. Place was packed and bumping

I would say that the crowd is at least 40% Marquette fans.
Big trouble early......Depaul on fire from 3 and up 34-23 in 2nd quarter.
Open 3s and layups for Depaul.....'.43-26......ugly.
Kieger should be fired. What's her timeout talks like?
Steamrolled......it happens but you'd rather it not happen going into the Tournament.
Probably a 7 seed......hopefully they can win a game.
That was... not good.
A big shout out to all of you who made the trip. Good showing. DePaul shot like our men's team does when en fuego. Sometimes you just got to tip your fedora to the other team. Hopefully Coach Kieger can get them ready for the NCAAs. They seem to be trending a little down recently.
The good news is that DePaul can't bank any of that margin for the men's team tomorrow night.
Hope they can put that performance behind them and bounce back in the NCAA Tournament.

Me too. On the mens side at least, it seems like big conference tourney performances often lead to early NCAA exits, but sometimes teams that go down early in conference show up stronger in the NCAA. Hopefully the same applies here.
How were the concession lines?

This was the women's BET conference championship game . Did not go down early.

Not bad, but I had to wait at least 5 minutes after my order for the food to come out of the window. It was the beginning of halftime; didn't they think they should start cooking stuff in anticipation?

Ha, ha. Wintrust is Allstate II with slightly better sight lines. MU has yet to win there, though. Place is cursed.

I'm aware. Just musing on how success in conference tournaments (like the women had last year) can lead to complacency in the NCAAs, just like failure in the conference tournaments (a 35 point beat down certainly qualifies) might be motivating.
For all the complaining we've had about the men in the BET, it really is amazing how poorly we've done there vis a vis the big dance.
2017: BET 0-1, NCAA First round loss (0-1)
2014-2016: BET 2-3 overall, no NCAAs
2013: BET 0-1, NCAA Elite Eight (3-1)
2012: BET 0-1, NCAA Sweet 16 (2-1)
2011: BET 2-1, NCAA Sweet 16 (2-1)
2010: BET 2-1, NCAA First round loss (0-1)
2009: BET 1-1, NCAA Second round loss (1-1)
2008: BET 2-1, NCAA Second round loss (1-1)
2007: BET 1-1, NCAA First round loss (0-1)
2006: BET 0-1, NCAA First round loss (0-1)
2011 is the only year where the men did well in BOTH the BET and the NCAAs, though there are years we did poorly in both.

I was underwhelmed when I went to the DeBacle a couple weeks ago. The seating and visibility are fine...the concourses seemed cramped.
Someone told me the announcers were raving about the lighting in there. I felt like it was just a newer version of All State Arena as someone else also said.
