MU Loss--7th Seed
MU Win--
7th Seed w/ SHU Win and SJU Win (1-3 vs. Prov/Buter, Prov 2-2, Butler 3-1 in mini-series)
7th Seed w/SHU Win and Prov Win (lose H2H tiebreaker with Butler)
5th Seed w/Butler Win and SJU Win (3-1 vs. SHU/Prov, SHU 2-2, Prov 1-3 in mini-series)
6th Seed w/Butler win and Prov Win (win H2H tiebreaker with SHU)
Thank you for this.
In other words, we need a MU win and a Butler win over Seton Hall to move out of the bottom 4.

No. PC over SJU changes nothing with respect to MU getting the 6 seed if Hall loses to Butler.
If SJU beats PC AND Butler beats Hall, MU gets the 5 seed. But PC losing is not required for MU to get the 6 seed.
MU won't be moving up if they don't beat Creighton Saturday.
The rest will take care of itself.
This is awesome. What do we want though?
What we want is pretty simple in my mind: beat Creighton and get a Butler win to avoid the seven seed. I have no interest in a DePaul matchup followed by either Nova or Xavier. By getting the five or six seed, MU avoids the three teams that swept them (Nova, Xavier and Butler) in the first game. As the #6, MU would play Providence. As the #5, MU would play Creighton. We match up pretty well against those teams, and a win against either one should put us in the conversation for the tourney.

Butler win should mean a six seed against third-seeded Providence. Is that right?

Yes. And Seton Hall win means 7-seed against DePaul playing into 2-seed Villanova.
7th seed means DePaul.
Beat DePaul and lose to Nova is a 58 RPI with a 25 SOS
6th seed would be Providence.
Beat Providence and likely play Nova is a 50 RPI and 18 SOS.
