Wow! No reason for it to have gone to OT. None.
Interesting switch in the last minute by Wojo with offense/defense, hey?
1. Sammy. Geez are we lucky he can shoot.....and great all around game! Except, what's with the missed free throws? Good they no matta!
2. Andy with the Double double and only 3 TOS. Frustrating at times, yes. But glad he's with us. Huge in OT. Give it to Andy and I'm ok with that too!
3. Matty. Huge on the boards!
4. Markus. Made some big shots when we needed them.
5. Harry. Cuz he actually played and hit some huge 3s.
Need another on Saturday. I'll be there! Let's fill up the BC! Go Warriors!
If MU had won in regulation, Sam.
AR came up huge in OT and had a double double.
Rowsey.
It's always nice to have a guy get a double double and still be a clear second for SOTG. Great game from Sam tonight. He's just fun to watch when he's on and has this kind of confidence.
Sam
Mayday
Sam got us to OT.
Hauser, absolutely.
I gotta go with Sam. Rowsey doesn't even make my list because of too many empty possessions where he chucked it up early in the shot clock.
Harry with the clutch 3s — he CAN shoot them!
Wojo
Rowsey got the coin flip last time. Hauser gets it this time.
Rowsey
Yousey! That double, double and final 9 points is what won the game. Sammy was great. Absolutely top shelf. But Rowsey took over. 10, count 'em 10 assists.
Have to go with AR, when Hauser was being face guarded and went cold AR picked the scoring. AR also with the assists minimal To's. Double double and put game away or AR/Sam
Harry Frickin' Froling. MU loses without his threes as they took the lead back. Actually tired out Govan running after him who was gassed the rest of the game.
Sam... Rowsey's 28 were Westbrook like....28 on 22 shots. Sam had 28 pts on 14 shots.... definitely Sam
Sam
28 points (7-8 from three) 6 rebounds and zero turnovers. Hitting the clutch shot at end of regulation.
Don't think it's SOTG worthy, but Harry absolutely made a huge positive impact.
I'd give it to Sam, although would have no complaints with Andrew
Sandrew Hausey ftw

AR 10 assists / 3 TO's that is huge

Rowsey.
This is exactly how I feel. Rowsey sealed it in the extra frame.
Rowsey - On a team with no true PG, 22/10 with only 3 TOs is huge.
Sam was huge early, but Rowsey carried us home.

Especially as he went for 28/10 with only 3 TOs ;)
Rowsey and Hauser both scored 28. Rowsey added 10 assists, which means he accounted for at least 48 points (probably more). I'm going with Andrew tonight.
Good luck Rocky!

Sam,always plays smart and when his shot isn't falling still makes useful plays. Who leads the team in rebounds. If not for his efficiency the midgets would be hard pressed to get off a shot
Rowsey, he was the Man in OT.

28 on 22 is still good.
But I'd go with Sam.

Definitely more. I recall at least 3 assists to Sam for in-rhythm 3s.
Rowdy, double double cannot be ignored. His role in the 2 man game made Hauser's scoring possible.
Hauser, the definition of efficiency. Stone cold shot to take the lead with 5 seconds left. Played savvy against Derrickson to get him some fouls
Honorable mention for Froling. It makes no sense, but him subbing in is when Govan stopped abusing us. Those threes were clutch for someone who had been collecting splinters in his butt for the past two games
Sam had a great game. But it's Rowsey.
I just checked the play-by-play.
Assuming it's accurate, 9 out of Rowsey's 10 assists were for 3-pointers (6 for Sam and 3 for Markus). So he scored 28, and set up another 29.
Let that sink in, folks.
Hauser. 28 on 14 shots, 7-8 3's.
Harry! W/O those two 3s, we wuz history in this game.
Sam.
Now over to you, Rocky! :-)
Sam for all Big East. He is so good.
As an aside, I think that whenever we have an empty possession, the following possession should be required, within reason, to go through Sam.

I could have sworn he had at least 7 rebounds too, though he was credited for much less. One of the harder SOTGs tonight between Sam and Rowsey. Splitting hairs....I think I go with Sam for the off the charts efficiency.

There are two ends of the floor, people. Rowsey's D and effort on D were brutal.

There was a time, not too long ago, when this actually would have been considered a bad thing. Remember the "Easy Assists" debates of a few years ago?
I always thought that was a BS argument, so Andrew gets my vote. Although Sam definitely worthy as well. And good on ya Harry.
Very happy for Harry. His butt was nailed to the bench for several games, but when Wojo and the team desperately needed him due to foul trouble, he was ready and he produced. Not easy to do. Obviously not SOTG, though.
And I'd be happy to see either Sam or AR get it. If forced to choose, I'd go with Sam. So steady ... and there quite possibly is no OT for AR to steal the show if Sam doesn't shine at the end of regulation (and throughout the whole game). But again, AR would be A-OK, of course.
Rowsey

MU would've won the game in regulation had Rowsey done something you're taught to do in the first organized basketball practice you'll ever attend (so 4th grade?)...stop the ball. And it would've come on Sam's unbelievably clutch shot.
Sam. So smart, so efficient, so fundamental.
1. Harry—2.5 DNPCD and you put him in and he answers when we need him to.
2. Heldt—his 2 OR saved the possession,maybe the game.
3. It's Sam.

If your point in archiving my prediction for Sam as the next Warrior in the Association is to embarrass me for my lack of knowledge you might want to delete your signature now while it's not too late.
6'8" pure shooter who makes every right decision? Said it from game 1 of his collegiate career. He's a future NBA player.

Maybe he's doing it so no one forgets how prescient you were ;)
If Joey is as good as Sam is by his Sophomore year we're going to be darn good.
Toss up. I'll go with Tower and Brew - AR due to the OT.

I agree with this, but he will not win this vote.
I will go with Rousey over Sam, because I always lean to the player that steps up and hits the game clinching free throws.
Geez was I love Sam! The Washington Post was effusive in praise of his shots "with a calm that bordered on nonchalance." But Drew gets the close nod for the steady ball handling, 10 assists, and taking control in OT. He has to distribute for MU to win and this a lesson for Creighton and beyound.
Kudo's for Harry: take those threes when your open, big fella!

True, but Mulmore is lightening quick so had AR tried to cut him off it would have absolutely resulted in a foul and if he makes both free throws were without AR for OT.
Sam my choice for more consistent performance and efficiency. Rowsey very worthy as well.

This post was with regards to Froling. I tend to agree that without Froling we don't win yesterday, but he definitely wasnt the Stud of the Game.
Mods...what about adding another award? If there's a SOTG for best overall player, can we also have a "clutch performer" or "6th man" award for the player who made a few contributions at key moments that were massive. Greg hasn't won SOTG all season but would have a ton of these. Jamal, Sacar, Heldt, John, and Froling too.

Big score for Wojo to prioritize and land San, and subsequently Joey.

Something tells me that's not going to be a popular one in the locker room... I think I've seen Sammy Splash references elsewhere. Seems more appropriate for a 20 year old kid (in 2018)
