Title: Regardless of the outcome.
Post by: Bad_Reporter on February 17, 2018, 10:42:21 PM
Love how the team came together.  I'm not saying Marcus isn't a huge part of the team, but the zone along with having an extra body above 6' has seemed to work wonders the past 8 minutes.

I'm not sure if it was BJ or Tamu who showed statistically the team is better defensively with just Rowsey or Howard in the game and not both on the floor, but would wojo dare bring either one off the bench?  My guess is no.

They don't need to bring them off the bench.  Marquette tends to start games ok.  But I'd take one out around the under 16 timeout and then sort of alternate them for stretches until the last 2-3 mins of the half.  If you can get them each with 12-15 minutes in the half, that'd be huge.  Plus it's interesting seeing Cain, Elliott, Hauser, etc all playing where they look like they want the ball.  When both short guards are in there, those guys often look like they don't want to shoot

Wojo has already done it twice this year with Rowsey not starting.

For disciplinary reason in before Conference play started, right?

Yup. Unlike the butler game they game out in the second half and showed some heart.

Markus is a very good player , but he does not make other players better. Sometimes Rowsey will.

Sometimes Markus will. Sometimes Rowsey will. Too often, neither of them do.
