We knew we weren't going to be very effective in stopping Harrongody from scoring. However, the help defense created lots of turnovers when he tried to put it on the floor. The steals created all sorts of transition opportunities. I think the defensive game plan lead to the victory.
As much as Crean was outcoached by Huggins the other day. TC outcoached Brey today.
I agree, particularly the jump into the zone.
Brey was taken to school today. The Irish's only chance was to walk it up the floor and keep the score in the high 60s. Getting us into a transition game was suicide. Thanks, Coach.
Marquette should love Brey
Plus the fact you let one guy score all he wants and keep the others down...you will win 9 of 10 times
that's why you don't see kobe scoring 60+ points every game anymore.
This is how Ralph Sampson used to lose games - Basketball takes 5 players to win
I loved how well we played today. We played zone defense perfectly.
Brey was completely out-coached to day. And then the pressure forced him to lose composure. I've never participated in a game before that the fans had that much impact. He burned all of his time outs with 12min to go inntha game, mostly due to noise.
I just wish the fans would realize that we can, make those timeouts worthless too, by keeping up the noise so they can't communicate in the huddle. Kind of like the old celtics fans used to do.
I got a chuckle after skimming the ND Board. They were complaining about the officials not calling MU for fouls. HA!
Well, considering the foul discrepancy in both halfs, that's a little ironic... :)
