Post by: Galway Eagle on February 01, 2018, 07:29:48 PM
Figured this forum could use a more uplifting thread. Anybody have any great National marquette Day Traditions?

Sit at home since there is no gathering within 2 hours.   This year, try to get back from a golf show in time to watch it live and not on DVR.

Remember how oddly warm it was last year for a late February game?  That was nice.

Not this year.  Gonna be cold and snowy.  Just fine for us natives.  You all gonna share in the good weather or just mellow in that ivory tower?

Yeah it was fantastic. My buddies and I have done Brat House before the game since we were in college and we were actually able to be outside pretty much the entire time

We drank Bloodies outside last year at Sobelmans.  Pre game at Buck Bradley's and post at Turners, all with '83 mates. Can't make it this year....bummed.

Oh, and Sonoran Salsa run on Sunday.

Plus it was a night game, so plenty of good day drinking.

Had a lot of fun with RC and Newsie at the original Sobelman's.

Played nine holes of golf and drank outside into the evening last year. First day in my life I played golf and went to a MU game in the same day.

That was an exceptionally drunk crowd last year.

And before the events chick mentioned tomorrow, we've got the pep rally, the women's game, the fireworks and probably Caf's tonight.

I heard there will be a special appearance by a certain Pole for the Scoop Insiders.  Will these involve a Cuddle?

It was amazing outside last year.  A buddy of mine and I took a long walk around the campus for the first time in probably over a decade.  Brought back all kinds of memories and then the added realization that I'm old.

How was the Pep Rally?  Nothing like being outside in sub-freezing temps.

Looks like the nearest Arby's is out by Miller Park.  Jamocha shakes and potato cakes for the winners.

Froze our butts off. Women's game much more enjoyable. Our women destroyed Providence. It's the men's turn tomorrow.

I saw Ed Cooley at the game. I almost didn't recognize him. He looks very different wearing a track suit and a knit hat.

Running my dogs in the agility exhibition at the Wisconsin Pet Expo in the morning before the game. Nothing Marquette connected, just happens that both events fell on the same day.

Go to MKE for lunch, then the game, then dinner with friends... and see where the night leads us.

"MU Nation:  150,000 strong"

Anyone going to any of the pre-game events?  I have been to a few of the Biz Ad events over the years but they are a bit of a cluster.

Finally, they realized they have to provide the t-shirts to make this work.
