Howard going to light it up. He's only 18.
Interior defense, it would be cool if that was a thing
Interior what, now?
MU always good for giving some guy a career night
Hauser really struggling on offense. But great block and assist.

That happens so often to him, and he never gets the foul call. Ridiculous.
Can we please fucking stop Tyler Wideman?
There we go, two starters in foul trouble, 10 minutes in. Can't make it up, every game. No ref issues, they were fouls, and another one on a made basket. Just unreal.
Wojo needs to figure something out. Butler not that good but looks far better prepared and efficient
That was all body. Saw that in the upper deck.
Ugh
C'mon, everyone, keep talking like MU is in great shape for that NCAA bid.
And there's Markus who can't get a call.
Better D up boys. Don't let this get away.
Butler had 3 turnovers all game vs. Marquette in their first match up. Butler already with 5, but they lead at 8:00 of the 1st half 28-18. eFG:% Butler 68.4%, #mubb 43.8%
No answer for Wideman. He is killing us down low and defense has been non-existent. Need to start hitting 3s soon
There is just no way Markus didn't get fouled there
Shouldn't have gotten that call either, apparently

The reality is there is tremendous pressure on this team and they're playing like it. THAT is on Wojo. They're pressing not flowing. They have to work too hard to get shots. Good D makes it hard. Butler shooting 50%+ so it's hard to say we're unlucky.
Actually think the defense has been pretty solid. Offense has been the worst I have seen it

Yup. Gonna get killed.
If we can't get a second scorer (Rowsey, Hauser, etc), we cant stick with anyone. Who's going to step up the second half?
Major suckage at both ends.

Awful performance thus far. Not much else to say.
The ball never comes out of Rowsey's hand on ANY last possession
Get lead down with ball and Markus chucks up 25 footer, quick. Ugh
Leads to basket, then turnover, then another Wideman. Back to 15.
Not...smart..basketball.
So another season with no NCAA bid.
If next year is another bust, Wojo must go.

If I was Wojo, I wouldn't come into the locker room. I'd let them sit and think. Get someone to step up. They need to come together and sometimes it just has to be on the players to execute.

MU fouls: 8
BU fouls: 7
MU Free Throws:7-9
BU Free Throws:3-4 No big officiating issues guys.
Its 60% to 38%(fg) and no answer for Wideman. Rowsey and Sam are 1 for 8..........

I mean, it's not looking great right now but that game was absolutely dreadful. I left that game at halftime and to this day it is the only Marquette game which I left early.
Face it Sports Fans, if the Warriors blow this game, and the way they are playing, it is not looking good, a fork can be stuck in this season, and the mantra will become, We"ll be really good next year." repeat and rinse.
And perhaps some will then be willing to admit that maybe, just maybe, a giant flamethrower needs to be affixed to Wojo's rump.

I don't really agree. This is the worst offensive performance we've had all year. Butler has made more than a few contested crazy-looking shots.
We don't have an answer for the wide man right now and he's going to kill us in the 2nd half most likely but, if we were making a regular amount of shots you'd feel totally different about the defense. The offense is the most important factor because by far the best thing we can do is limit our exposure defensively.
The lazy turnovers were the most frustrating to me. Just carelessly throwing the ball out of bounds on multiple occasions. Huge game. Crapped the bed.
Guess we should just cancel the rest of the games this year since so many think the season is over with a loss

It is still bizarre to me that MH and AR rarely play well at the same time. Perhaps it's because opponents decide to take one of them away but it's just odd.
Sorry, but stats were premature.
Both teams with 8 fouls
BU 59%, MU 34%
Sam and Rowsey 1 for 9
1/3 of MU points from free throw line........
That ball clearly just went off of Butler player's foot. Called out on Froling. Wtf
Has anyone noticed how off balance Rowsey is on D? He takes bad angles and terrible footwork and late rotations. Making Butler look like the Pacers. Our Guards cannot defend.
Harry's feet are incredibly slow and he has poor defensive awareness at this point.

This might be the worst loss of the Wojo era
Getting blown out by 20 at home to a decent conference team is unacceptable. This current team is nowhere close to an NCAA tourney team and the underperformance as of late has to fall on wojo.

I can't believe I'm actually still sitting here at the game.
Dumbfounded
I embrace the NIT!
I think Butler is 5 for 5 on shots as the clock is expiring
This game is unacceptable on every level. This is not how you prepare your team for a game. Complete incompetence.
I think losing the Villanova game and not getting calls at home down the stretch really broke the morale of this team.
Mentally out of it.
Also, the physicality is getting to them. We're not big. We've been beat up.
No bailing on the postgame tonight Wojo. Face the music.
Can't watch anymore. Hugely disappointing.
They still raising ticket prices next year?
I agree with Wojo's decision to sit Rowsey and play the youth - build for next year.
Getting fucked by 30 to a team that's probably about the same as you at home. Sheesh.
We look totally unprepared. We have no offense and no defense. Lousy coaching period.
Down 15 at half and then you come out and play even worse? One and done terrible shots, no offensive movement, no game plan. Maybe we are just not good enough to win this game which is fine. However, getting whipped like this surely reflects poorly on the coaching staff.
Can't believe crowd still there!

I guess at least every other bubble team lost tonight at least?

The players play the game. The outcome of the game is at least 90% players, 10% coaching adjustments/screaming/huddle talk.
The players missed the shots. The players did not commit to sharing the ball on offense. The players got lazy and let Wideman power over them. We've seen them do all of these things correctly this season. They know what to do. They're just not in it today. The players I mean.
No way we make the tournament with this defense
I believe MU will play Wednesday night in the BET for the 3rd or 4th time in 5 yrs (I believe they did in Buzz's last year). Such a bummer Wojo seems like a great guy but this just ain't working. Next year it will be no real PG and Elliot playing out of position, Wd Morrow has tomait our last year, Joey is still healing blah, blah. We always have circumstances to justify mediocrity.
W.T.F was that from Rowsey??
Third time rowsey has done that tonight?
I am suffering PTDS . . . Post Traumatic Dukiet Syndrome . . . It's a side effect from my time at Marquette in the 80's when losing by 30 at home in what amounts to the Horizon League was a common occurrence.

My operative theory is Big 3 are going to have games down the stretch where they are all playing well. That will make us a very tough team to beat.
Clearly, we have not been able to even get a big 2 lately , seems like we only get one of the guys to play well in any given game. But I do think they will all hit their stride at the same time . Teams can go a long way in a tournament setting with multiple hot shooters.
