On any given night, we've got 2 guys who can drop 30 and a third who is capable if he gets enough touches. Home and Mac mentioned tonight that we've had 9 games with a player scoring 30 already this year. That's just insane. We've seen some really, really good college players come through MU, but I don't think we've ever had players that can score like this.
Does anyone know what the MU season record is for 30 point games? Either for a team or for an individual?

For team I?d guess 2017-18 at 9.

Yeah, considering what a big deal it was when Blue became our first 30-point scorer in ages (I don't think Jimmy, Jae, or DJO ever did it), and how huge it was when Carlino and Duane did it in the same season, I'm confident this is correct.
The amount of 30 pt games, blows me away. I am not certain that is a great thing, but it has been fun to watch.

I think Jimmy did in a home loss once, mostly from the stripe.
Now only if Rowsey, Howard and Hauser could have 30 points all in the same game; that would be something.
I remember jimmy doing it against Cincinnati, we mentioned Blue. I know nobody in 08-09, 11-12 or 13-14 did it.
Edit: Did this the moment I woke up, meant to write 09-10 not 08-09
30 pt games are a rare occurrence at MU prior to this year. This seasonal will definitely be remembered for the individual performances. Actually am surprised when it does not happen this season.

18 with Crean and Buzz as HC
13 with Wojo as HC (4 before this year, 9 this year and counting)

I can think of one you are missing and it involves the number 52 :)
NM didn't see the before this year caveat.

I would be really worried if it was always the same guy hitting 30, but love the fact that we have three guys who have done it. After all, how many teams can have their two best players cold and still have a realistic shot at another guy going off for 30 and saving the game?

That's kinda where I'm at now. Feed the heat check.
Some commentator speaking of some guy on St. John?s:
?He?s the best pure shooter in the Big East...not wearing a Marquette uniform?
Loved hearin that. Loved the brief pause. Yeah, he?s the best ... except for the whole freakin Marquette Team.
How likely do you see us having two 30 point performances in the same game?
How about three 20 point performance in the same game?
Shot clock? Fouls?

I'm guessing 2 guys going for 30 won't happen. Even if Rowsey and Howard are both shooting well in a game, I have a feeling teams will start to sell out at the 3 point line to slow them down, which would give easy looks to other guys. 3 guys getting to 20, on the other hand, I think is more likely, especially if we're up in a close game and get to shoot free throws near the end.

Like against VCU when Howard scored 22 and Rowsey and Hauser both scored 20.
And Cheatham added a season high 13.
reminds me of Nellie's Bucks teams with Marques and Sidney - either one could go off for 30
