Title: Villanova game thread
Post by: real chili 83 on January 06, 2018, 06:46:16 PM
Wildcats are hairy and wet.  Kitty livers on the menu.

Sam and Rowsey score 20, Marcus good for 30.

Sam's 10 boards make him SOTG!

GO WARRIORS!!!!!!

It's a lot easier to shoot against MU's pathetic defense.

Nova might hit 100.

How do these clowns not know the difference among the women's line, the men's line, and the NBA line? This is ridiculous.

Further, if this is Nova's floor, why the heck do they have a pro 3 point line on it?

The 76ers play on that floor. Many wood panels are just removed, to turn it into a Villanova floor.

Can't be this sloppy and fall down this much this early at Nova and survive...Loose with the ball, missing easy shots, giving them anything they want. You get away with that against DuhPaul, not Nova.

I thought that might be the case, but after seeing the time lapse of the crew putting the floor out, I assumed Nova had their own floor. Seems kinda dumb to replace more than half the floor and not just have two separate floors.

The Pavilion is closed this year. Most years Villanova only plays 3 to 4 games at the Well Fargo Center.

To beat Nova you have to hope they are not hitting from outside, so you can pack it in a bit.  They are on fire from outside.  It is going to be a long night.

Sacar's offense tonight is looking much better. I like that he's attacking when given space. In a game like this, we'll need everyone to step up, so contributions from him on the offensive end are great.

Yes, Rowsey is not a very good defender and Brunson backing him in, but wow this is worse than Providence game, how many layups/dunks can a team give up.  Plus they have hit threes, makes it difficult.

With all that and some really bad turnovers, only down 10.

If we can figure out a way to cut down on the number of uncontested shots in the paint in the second half, we'll definitely cover and may have a shot at being competitive. Kind of a big if at this point, but we seemed to figure it out at PC

Two quick ones on Heldt hurts. He's getting beat all over, but I still think I'd rather have him out on the floor than the other 2 bigs. Let's hope Theo and Harry can stay out of foul trouble. The last thing we need is to be giving away free points tonight.

I wonder if playing for the 400th win played a role in the vegas spread.

Whatever it was, this was easy money.

If Markus can't get within 12 pts of last game he should sit next gsme

decent finish....dont feel too bad about it. No moral victories...loss is a loss. But, they battled.

Much closer game than the final spread of 10 suggests.  Heck of a game.  IMO we were a normal Rowsey away from a win.  Even a normal Paschall would have maybe been enough.

What is a normal Rowsey??
I dont even know anymore.  No clue what to expect from him, less consistant than our freshman let alone a 5th yr senior

That was bad. I get that it's hard to know a lot of key things about new teams from night to night, but so many things were wrong tonight. It felt lazy. And the 3 point line thing... yikes.

The announcer must have been given bad information about Sam because I can't figure out why he said it more than once.

Did Brian Custer say that? He is normally pretty good. I enjoyed in his first year full-time doing football.

Len Elmore was fine. He was just lost on the three point lines.  :o

Unlike ESPN. At least they don't use the term power 5 for basketball stats at Fox.

Not a fan of his. Choppy delivery. Trying to hype up EVERY moment. Amateurish. Let the game breathe.
