Who do we cheer for? Could be an interesting game this morning.
X. Let the winners win. Let those in the 2nd tier with us, lose.
Best if Prov stays below us in the standings.
Agreed. Put DePaul, Providence, and Georgetown down and out early. Then worry about getting ahead of SJU.
Friars showing a little fight playing even in the early going.
Friars up 6 with 10 plus to go in the first half. With Bullock they are a different squad.

He is their best player, definitely got a break with him not playing against us. The rematch with the Friars at home will be a difficult challenge.
X is really out of sync at both ends.

X has a way of coming back though.

Bullock might be their best player, but Cartwright is their most important player. Apparently playing against X with a bad back that didn't allow him to participate in the full warm ups.
There is a much bigger drop off between Cartwright and Ashton-Langford than between Bullock and Jackson.
I think they miss Holt more.
I wouldn't mind seeing providence win because we want our win to look as good as possible come March. We haven't beaten X and probably won't at the Cintas. We have a good chance we will beat providence twice. If this is the case, come March we will be ahead of prov. As long as our records are similar
Officiating again very poor in this game.
This is a very high level, entertaining game. Lots of fun. Hope X pulls it out

It was pointed out on another board that one of the refs in this game reffed the UW / Rutgers game last evening.
wouldn't we rather have providence win cuz we beat them-better for our RPI, et.al.?

No because our SOS is equally affected. Would rather knock a potential bubble team down.
I'm pulling for PC. Makes MU's road win look better. Plus, I want 70% of the league in the dance again.

That's a good example of why officials need to be dedicated to a conference and be full time, year round positions, with extensive training in the off seasons.
A well trained Big East specific official wouldn't fall for Macura flops, they'd be looking for it.
Wrong, we want to finish as high in the conference standings as possible, and we aint finishing above Xavier.
If the refs called the fouls on macura like today marquette would have won.
Creighton took care of Georgetown
Then take care of your own business.
Not going to lie. Watching Cartwright flop against Macura made me laugh out loud. Providence looks better with Bullough.
That was a lot of steps by Bullock.

I'm not worried about who wins/loses. We will control our own destiny.
In the interim, I'm enjoying a great basketball game, with several more on the slate for today.
Man, Xavier really laid an egg today.
Seton Hall could be the last team with a perfect conference record when we see them. They just have to get past the Dawgs today.

Xavier (IMHO) is very much overrated at #5 in the country. I think they're borderline top 25.

They probably aren't #5 good. But no way they are borderline top 25. 10-15 range at worst.

How much basketball have you watched this year? X is tall, deep, experienced, has a couple of guys who can take over games....
I really want you to try to name 20 teams that you have seen that are better.

They don't have a point guard. Blueitt can take over games - not so big on JP.
Two losses so far. They must be doing something right.

Lol. A team that smoked up Colorado (the team that just beat Arizona and Arizona State this week), smoked up a top 20 Cinci team, beat the Butler team that beat Nova, went on the road and beat a solid UNI, and only has losses at Providence and on a neutral court to ASU is "borderline top 25?" Come on now.
Lenny, the evidence does not back your opinion. If you had said top 10 or -15, I would have still disagreed but wouldn't have argued. I don't think you can name 20 better teams.
Just to pile on, as I've already responded to the same comment in another thread, but X is in no way overrated. At lowest I put them #6 after today's loss. I think they're a top tier team this year and capable of winning a national championship.
X is a 4 seed level team. Nova will be a 2 at the end.
SH 5
CR 6
BUT 7
MU 9
PV 10 - too good not to make tourney but I think we'll be above them

Please give me 12 teams with better resumes and will be be seeded higher than X.
Also low on hall. The rest look about right.
Way too early to be talking about where mid tier BE teams will be seeded. We're 3 games into conference play. Teams like Creighton, MU, Butler, and Providence could all jump all the way to a 4ish seed if everything goes their way and could miss the NCAA if everything goes against them. Respect the process and let's revisit when we're at least half way through the conference season and have an idea of what the pecking order is going to look like.
But it is unquestionable that Xavier is a top 15 team. Just look at their resume. Results speak.

I agree with this - but I also think they have not looked that sharp since BE play started.
