Howard, Rowsey, and Hauser ....
If two bring their "A game," we can win.
All three ... we will win.
Only 1 ... we cannot win.
You agree?
Depends what you mean by A game. If you mean Howard and Rowsey both score over 20pts, we can and have lost in those situations. If you mean they both hit 30 plus pts well that's a different story.
No I do not believe we will/can beat nova on the road.

Yes. If our players play well, we can win. Stunning analysis.
Nova also would have to have an off night. Nova missed 28 3's last year, many of which were wide open
Just tell the Nova players about the $100 thread on here. They'll create accounts, post in it, and lose on purpose. Easy Peasy.
Anything is possible. However, I have not made plans for PG's $100, as I doubt he will have to pay out.
We better, I already have the $100 spent. BTW, I'm thinking we get $100 for every post made in that thread.

No reason we can't get Cain involved as well to be a major contributor. We will certainly need his length on the boards.
52 from M2N, 35 from Rowsey and we'll be in good shape

Of course we can win. It's just extremely unlikely.

Anything is possible but highly unlike we win there. Providence was without one of their top 2 players and we needed heroics from Marcus to pull out the W.
The subplot I'm watching is how Rowsey responds to Markus' explosion last night.
He's as competitive as they come and I think/hope he'll look at last night and we'll get a similar kind of performance from him in one of these huge conference games before it's all said and done. Hell, he just put up 35 against Georgetown 4 days earlier.
We always have a Puncher's chance. And if our new Bigs show up a much better chance.
This team reminds me of "Up at 9"
Is it possible? Sure. But playing a Villanova team with a week of rest and preparation, on the road where they've lost 3 times in five years (albeit 2 in that specific building), knowing they'll be focused after a loss, and the simple reality they are a better team, I don't see it.
That said, the optimistic hope for this week was always 1-1, so there's really nothing to complain about either way.
Very, very difficult. Definitely will be watching to see how may points the little guy(s) score.

Somehow watching MU, it seems on D it is like watching the Pack. Same mistakes time and time again. Still do not see why the center is running around 30 feet from
the basket, isn't the center suppose to protect the lane and hoop? It is like they do not know what they are doing. Harry for sure has no idea. Matt plays it well, as
good as expected, but watch the beginning of that game, dunk or lay-up everytime. Do not get it, does Wojo?
YES!! if we score more points than them-WE WIN!!
not much room for errors and handle the city of brotherly love crowd
Marquette needs to take Nova out of their comfort zone. How to do that, that is the MU Coaches job. Nova needs to be bothered by what Marquette puts on them. Nova has to much talent and excellent coaching to let them play their game at home.
Its possible. But as Heisey said, going to need monster nights from at least 2 of big 3.

I would think we need monster nights from 2 of big 3 and a great night out of the third
We beat a bubble team on the road, playing without their best guy, and it took a 50 point performance and OT to seal the deal. Playing against a healthy title contender is going to much harder.
If we can keep their 3P% down, like we did last year, and stay out of foul trouble, we can hang with them. If any of our big 3 are limited to less than 25 minutes, I think we're in trouble. I doubt there's a line out yet, but I'd imagine Vegas will be giving us 6 or 7 points.
You know what boys? It's all opportunity and upside. Lace 'em up.

You're a negative dude. =
Sure we could. But I don't think this sets up well for us. I would have liked our chances much more if Nova hadn't lost to Butler. They will be focused and motivated. Our guys also need to refocus after an emotional win that got a lot of attention. I'd guess Nova wins by 10-15. But I'd love to see us take them to the wire at our place in 3 weeks (partly because I'll be there for my one game this year).
IF the same game against Nova as Providence then NO.
But if everyone plays to their potential defensively and everyone is consistent offensively then YES.
A win might look like this:
Howard/Rowsey/Hauser - 60 (distributed kinda evenly..no one over 30 and no one under 15)
John/Heldt/Frohling - 15
Cain/Elliot/Anim - 20
Without a doubt. In fact the question should be: Can Nova beat MU? After all we have Superman on our team.
We got this.
If M2N scores another 52 probably a win
Doesn't matter what any of the players do.
The outcome, as usual, will be determined by the referees.
We absolutely can.
But if I had to guess, Nova would beat us in Philly 96 times out of 100.

That's silly. We have been told several times by scoopers that the refs have never ever had a significant impact on any basketball game ever.

This is the tough one for me. I see less than 10 pts out of these three collectively. I'd love to see 20 though.

I prefer realistic.
Am I wrong?
"We beat a bubble team on the road, playing without their best guy, and it took a 50 point performance and OT to seal the deal. Playing against a healthy title contender is going to much harder."
on paper, we beat providence on the road. it's part of the game-ey/na?
Shoot 50%+ on 30+ 3PA, keep TO's under 10, force 15+ TOs & convert at a high rate, Heldt/Theo/Harry have to hit every bunny, we need to make 90%+ on FTs as a team, and Cain/Elliott need to keep Bridges in check.
We'll probably have to concede 30+ to Brunson to keep Howard & Rowsey out of foul trouble and on the court for 35+ min apiece.
Then we have a chance.
YES!
If we beat nova tonight I will eat my toenails. not being negative, I just dont see it.
Distribute via a lottery to all Scoopers, hey?

No chance (in the literal sense). But odds tonight are long. Need 2 of Big 3 to go off.
Ya know, it's crazy. I watched Markus' full game highlights in YouTube. Every attempt, Miss or make. Kid put up 52 and missed a bunch of shots he usually makes. It's crazy to think what he could do if he really went unconscious.

He went 11/19 from three and 17/29 overall. I mean, I guess he could have shot better...

I'm in no way ripping Markus. Just commenting that when rewatching his entire game highlights, I was surprised at the number of missed good looks. It could easily been 65 points.
Si.
Marquette plays with house money tonight. No one expects them to win. For Villanova this game is a must win. It is at home with their famous home cooking. They are also coming off a huge unexpected loss and the memory of their loss to us last year. They will be fired up. If we can blunt their start we have a chance. It is a huge long shot but everyone already knows that.

See the thing is even great shooters miss good looks. ......every game and quite often.
If you think he wasn't on fire in that game you need to recalibrate your thermometer
For every good look you think he missed he made a tough 1 .....including a banked in 3.
Easily 65?.....come on
It's at Wells Fargo so we have a shot. It it were at their on-campus gym I don't think we'd stand a chance.
Imma just getta on record now and say "Yes."
we need to play with some passion and move the damn ball around
