Ok, let's hype it more.
What will be Harry Froling's stat line tomorrow night against NIU?
Here are my predictions
* Not start, 20 minutes

And almost three years ago to the day (December 18, 2014) Luke Fischer debuts against Alabama A&M and led all scorers with 22 points

So why has everyone predicted that he'll come off the bench? Not saying you're wrong but might we see Sam, Harry, Matty at the 3-4-5 to start?

Mine would be if it were a tougher opponent. NIU is a poor rebouding team and poor team defending the 2. I think Harry will play more inside than we're expecting and make some hay off offensive rebounds. I think he will put some impressive numbers then tail off once conference play starts the next week.

I believe Harry will do well in his first two games. He will be full of energy and the competition is not to difficult.
OK, clueless how good he is...but guessing:
Not start - as most of us assume. Would be real odd if he did.
20min - because he needs game time and the coaches can evaluate.
10pts - 4FT; 0-1 3s. Guessing the coaches will run something to try one. But he won't look for it.
8reb - because he will be expected to do that.
4 Assists - kicking it and interior
0 Steals
1 nachos - oops. that's me...
Much more concerned with what he brings for the rest of the year. I'm thinking along the lines of 7-8 points, 4 rebounds, 1-2 assists and shooting about 34% from 3.
45 points, 29 rebounds, 14 blocked shots - all team records.

I like it! Will he announce in the post-game his younger brother Sam will commit to MU?
Wojo has a brother thing going (Ellenson, Hauser) how about Froling?
Can he play the point? Or is he another 6'7-9 small forward who can handle the ball type? Next year's team needs a PG far more than it does another Froling.

Froling, whose brother Harry just transferred to Marquette, is a skilled 6-foot-9, 205-pound forward from Australia (he trains with the Australian Institute of Sport). Froling did participate in a recruiting event in Las Vegas this past summer, and his stock has seemed to rise from there. A couple weeks before that, he averaged 19.4 points and 10.8 rebounds per game while helping Australia's U-17 national team win the FIBA Oceania Championship.
Froling is listed as the No. 160 overall recruit on the 247Sports composite rankings. Rivals labeled him as a four-star recruit (although he's unranked by that service).https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/australian-center-sam-froling-breaks-down-recruitment
While he does have to get stronger and will never be described as an explosive athlete, Sam Froling's know-how and skillset from 12-feet and in was showcased nicely this month in Houston. Averaging 11 points and four rebounds off 54-percent shooting, Froling explained where he stands with his college recruitment.
"I am 99-percent sure that I am going to go. I want to do some visits later this year," he said. "Schools that I am probably most interested in are Arizona, Pittsburgh, Indiana, Wichita State, St. Mary's and New Mexico."

I believe Froling will start at power forward. Wojo only has two games before the Big East season to figure out if a Froling line up will work. Sam will start at small forward. Howard and Heldt will start. I am expecting Rousey to start, but would not be surprised if Anim starts.
12 points 5 rebounds, which will be about his season average.
MU's team scoring average increases by 2. Howard and Rousey's average decrease by two each. The other 6 points comes from the rest of the team.
If he is Henry Ellenson light, we need to assess the number of easy rebounds he gets.

Here are the averages and extremes.
Which stat(s) is (are) most likely to be outside these ranges? In other words, where does he surprise this consensus?
Stat Avg High Low
Minutes 22.67 30 18
Points 11.67 22 5
Rebounds 5.11 9 2
Blocks 1.67 3 1
Assists 2.40 4 1
Turnovers 2.67 4 2
I feel the key is minutes. If he plays less than 18, then most of the stats above come in below the low. If he plays more than 30, then most come in above.
Given this, I'll bet the surprise on minutes is the over, because it is cupcake and Wojo and crew want to get a good look at him in action, and he surprises on the upside.
22 minutes. 14 points. 4 boards. 1 block.
5/9 shooting. 1/3 3PA. 2/4 FTA.
I will be shocked if he plays 30 minutes.
I expect him to be rusty and think Wojo will ease him in to action. 15-20 minutes would be my guess.
NM
I'll say 4 minutes and 1 rebound.
So maybe people can relax a little now......

In fairness, we were 16.5 point favorite so I was expecting MU to have a more comfortable lead allowing Wojo to play the bench a lot more. Being down by 4 in the second half and changed the calculations.
I'll stick with my same numbers for American Thursday night (20 minutes, 10 and 5).

Very few minutes, my guess is 3 minutes tops. Theo John played awesome, so minimized playing opportunities.
He looked timid out there, like he was afraid to make mistakes and certainly didn't look comfortable.
He played 3 minutes.......Wojo had to try and win the game.....couldn't afford to play him in the 2nd half.

One thing that Wojo said was that he wasn't going to revise the rotation during Finals week. Harry backed up Sammy at the 4 last night. Nothing more. He played zero minutes at the 5. As others have said, the second half was about winning, not experimentation. On top of that, Theo played great.

He didnt play in the second half because in the first half he got beat a couple of times on rebounds and wasnt our best option. In the second half we were in a position to lose the game until the very end, thats why he did play. Wojos #1 goal was to win the game not give harry good run. Come on!

Hard not to be a little disappointed by Harry's debut. I was not expecting much but we got a little less than that. Theo gets more impressive each game. If he can manage to stay on the floor more without fouling he will really help us down the stretch as he continues to gain confidence.

I don't think I said anything that disagreed with this. What I'm not sure about is determining the quality of a player based a three minute appearance in his first game. If I did that, I would have thought Markus Howard was going to be a nobody last season!

Maybe it's just me, but I did realize how good of a passer Froling can be. Yes there were a few errant passes (shaking the rust off) but I was quite impressed with his ball fake at the top of the key, driving to the lane and a quick alley-oop to Theo.
