Congrats to haanif hope everything works out for him
Certainly supports Haanif and Wojo's comments that this was family-related. I wish Haanif all the best...both at in hoops at FGCU, and in dealing with the family matters.
It worked for Jamail Jones. A bit surprised he isn't going to a bigger conference, though.
Makes sense, still about 2 hours from home on a good day. Would've thought Miami or FAU could've been in play but he'll likely be the man at FGCU vs being the 6th or 7th man at the U.
Congrats Haanif! Don't make me regret my avatar.
I'll be rooting for you, Haani. #DunkCity
FGCU was already an easy team to cheer for, will definitely be rooting for them the next few years
No indication if he is going to sit out all of next season to get a full year or just play half the season and hope for a waiver.

Great choice, close to home, and gives MU a chance to recruit a grad point guard or combo guard, which they will need next year.
Well I lost my pool. I was sure that it was going to be Iowa State.
Good luck in #dunkCity
Then again, who needs luck when this is how you unwind after FALL SEMESTER final exams

Excellent choice for Haanif. He represented MU well . Will be following his career at FGCU and wish him well.

My son lived there this past summer while working an internship in Fort Myers. He really liked it a lot and said it was beautiful. However, a few things about those pictures (that started circulating when FGCU made it's tournament run): FGCU is inland and those are fresh water lakes and not ocean; the pictures (as such pictures generally are) are taken from the best possible vantage point; and alligators!
As I said, he said it was really nice. But he said that the lakes aren't nearly as impressive as they look in the pictures -- and were used surprisingly little (granted, it was during summer term). And they warned all of them in the strongest terms, "we don't care how much fun you're having at night and how good you are feeling...do not go swimming...alligators!" And he did see them.
But still...yeah...that looks like a great way to unwind after exams.
P.S. Good luck to Haanif.
I think it would be very cool to have alligators living nearby....did the everglades Airboat tour and we weren't disappointed.
anyway, glad he is making family a priority.
Good Choice Haanif, all the Luck in the world.
Alligators no matta, hey?

Not surprised at all. FGCU (and their conference) is the perfect fit/level for Haani.

Agree, haani seemed like a good kid but i cannot see an ACC school being interested

No, but AAC definitely.
Maybe if he had gone to a new conference every year, nobody would have figured out that he could only go left!

Just up the road from you now.

Yep, 20 miles north of us. Last year (while looking for a place to land) we rented for three months in Estero, less than 2 miles from the FGCU campus - used to run past there almost daily.
I'm guessing programs like Pitt, Georgia Tech, and Wake Forest would love to have HC on their roster.

Tie up a roster spot for two years for a borderline limited starter vs signing a freshman? Hardly

Marquette West = Iowa State
Marquette South = FGGU
