With Froling coming into the next game, which of the big three will be dropping minutes from the rotation?
Heldt
Froling
John
I honestly don't know as Heldt has been very solid lately but John has the athleticism

Really? That's what you want to focus on right this minute?
I have predicted before and will again that Harry's offensive skill set is going to allow him to play both the 5 and the 4. Look for some 2-big sets. Which moves Sam down to the 3. So, Theo and Jamal.

Yay we beat Wisco. Whats great about the internet is we can focus on more then one thing at a time. Which is the best part.
Wow What a positive thread after beating the Badgers and having a 18 day break and this is what your thinking.
No Thanks
No need to be harsh on the OP folks. The thread title is misleading. Simply put, what will the minutes breakdown be like with Froling's eligibility? Valid question and due to the victory over the Vadgers I feel even more inclined to delve in and discuss MU hoops.
Anyway, I agree with tower in that he's going to be a 4/5 depending on match ups. I can see a larger front court at times with Harry, Heldt and Hauser.
Could really be any of the 5 outside the big 3
I can see HF playing the 4 position offensively and guarding the opponents big man defensively. HF is a square up, face the basket shooter rather than a back to the basket player. I think Matt will lose more minutes but will still have a valuable role, especially if he continues to play like he does today.
Well of course the freshman; but I think Wojo would like to play 9 deep if he can.

Let's hope that the boys don't take the next 18 days off...we've got a couple games to play
As far as his role, I'm sure it'll be John. He's good for a couple minutes at a time, but his footwork limits him and gets him in foul trouble.
He's built like a tank, competes hard. I think we will love watching him the next 3 years...especially when you had Morrow to the front court. But at this moment in time, hes not ready for Big East basketball, imo.
In my opinion, you make Froling win the starting spot from Heldt. Matt has well documented shortcomings, but he's fundamentally sound.
Plus, something to be said with having just a bit more offense off the bench

Yeah, I didn't interpret this thread/OP as even remotely negative. Relax, people. It's a happy, happy day.

Ya I don't understand the negatively about this. We have 18 free days and what are we going to talk about instead? The beating we put on a wounded Wisconsin team (I think we would have killed them either way)
Froling is the best of the 3 big men. He will get the most minutes in BE play. He will get a ton of opportunities to score one-on-one down low. Unless the man guarding Rowsey, Howard, or Howard is dumb enough to double team.
I think we will see Matt and froling on the floor some of the time when Hauser is off the floor
Never having seen Froling even for an instant, I'm going to have to wait and see what develops.
Anim then Matt
I can see starting
Markus
Rowsey
Hauser
Froling
Matt
Remember Froling is not a back to the basket guy, closer to Henry.
That rotation will solve some of the lack of length

Lots of possibilities
Anim can come in for either Hauser / Froling
Anim can come in Matt out Froling 5 / Hauser 4

True of me too. Need to see where he's at. But good setup for him. Couple of easier games to see his real game stuff before BE. Let's say he's a step up offensively and in general over Heldt and John. Will be his defense that will determine if he dominates minutes.
Let's also not forget HF adds 5 more fouls to the Center position which wants to foul...so a few less minutes for John and Heldt there too.

I have no issue with this topic. I do think that posting it within a couple of minutes after the end of a great win was a not the most appropriate timing.

Where's this 18, come from. The next game is on the 18th, which is 9 days away :-)
