While Sam and Marquette battle Vermont, Joey will be in De Pere. I'm really looking forward to seeing him play! I'll try to post some pictures from the game along with my admittedly novice analysis.
UPDATE: Inside sources indicate that Joey might not be playing tonight and that ankle surgery may be coming in the near future. :'(
He missed his last game too, but the last post I saw indicated that he just needed to rest his ankle.

Ankle surgery isn't usually a good thing to have to have early in a season. It indicates something more structural than a simple sprain.

Oh... so you don't usually have surgery after a simple ankle sprain?
Surgery is never something you want to hear about in relation to a recruit. Good luck, young man.
He gets hurt alot.
Has he had a chance to play so far this season, or has he been resting his ankle the whole time?

He scored 35 points in their season opener and hasn't played since, I believe.
Well, I'd certainly prefer that he get all of this taken care of now, as opposed to playing on an ankle that needs rest or surgery or whatever and then bringing the problem with him to Marquette.
Take it easy, big guy. Get 100% healed while you're in high school, and then come to Milwaukee and be a great Warrior!

I believe tonight will be only their 3rd game
Great, now we have to post someone outside of all Stevens Point Jimmy Johns to get walking boot updates.
I guess I'll take the 9am-noon shift tomorrow, but I'll need someone to switch with me on Thursday -- dentist appointment.
This ankle was originally injured playing football as a junior I believe.
He did suffer a high ankle sprain last Fall playing football. Missed about half the basketball season.
Then reinjured the same ankle (Jones fracture) this past August playing hoops, and had surgery later that month. A Jones fracture typically takes a few months to heal.
For what it's worth, Joey never left the bench Tuesday night. He was walking gingerly but no boot or anything noticeable. Some SPASH fans indicated that he met with the Packers' Orthopedic Surgeon while in town...haven't heard anything more.

Just an FYI, a Jones fracture is not an ankle injury, its a foot injury, 5th metatarsal (foot bone of the little toe), so it's not a recurring type of injury
