Markus for SOTG. Anyone have any idea if tip is at 8 or 8:15 for TV purposes?
Nice shot, Sam!!
Just getting warmed up.... ;)
Cougars are probably the hairiest wet cats we play this year.
Espanol before 1st half, eh Newsie? Chick, no cheating.
Elliottttt for SOTG
GO WARRIORS!!!!!
Stop jinxing us!
Be careful down in Texas Chili. GO WARRIORS!!
807. It's wojos fault.

THat's not Dickie. That's Bardo
Howard can rest the rest of the first half
The thing is in the house!
Defensive rebounding. And please stop zoning.
Chicago State hitting some crazy tough shots
I've already seen enough Sims for the night. He needs to come back down to earth.
Not too much _efense out there...
If cupcakes are scoring inside at will, it's going to get uglier as the season progresses.

So frustrated a team as poor at defense as we are cannot at least play a zone that does not allow easy layups. If we gave up wide open threes I could almost live with that. Just pathetic zone defense.
Zone proponents strangely silent, our man defense wasnt bad they were just hitting crazy 3s
Chicago State is making some tough shots. I hate when MU gets an early lead because of hot 3 pt shooting. It always seems that MU starts to settle for the 3's, goes cold, and struggles to get into an offensive flow that nets them both good interior looks as well as open 3's. Thankfully, Chicago State isn't good.
Sam without a FG attempt so far with < 4 minutes left in the half.
Love elliotts defense he stays infront of his man extremely well
Guys put a move on him n hes still right there playing defense
In a bar without sound so can't hear broadcast or how illuminating wojo Huddle's are.
Chat room up?
Any criticques on wojos timeout comments??
The more I watch, the more I think that Rowsey, and to a slightly lesser degree Howard, are the primary problems for Marquette's defense. Neither can keep their man in front of them, the help and rotations start and the defense breaks down.
MU simply can't stop ANY drivers. Go right through everyone
Wow. This defense is worse than bad.
Cain, Elliott, Anim, and Sam do a decent job staying in front of their man in space. Markus and Howard do not.
Haven't watched yet
But 40 pts to Chicago state???
Yikes

Both poor defenders. Sometimes I wonder if we would be better suited with a turnover driven defense. We cant stop dribble penetration, low post, offensive rebounds, nor are we good a perimeter defense. Maybe we could cause some havoc and get some turnovers?
Our turnover rate defense in the first half was 12.9%. Not good among other poor defensive stats.
On the bright side, after watching 4 minutes of the Duke Indiana game, the number 1 team in the nation is playing the same level of defense MU is playing right now
Wojo and K..... defensive geniuses
Bardo is my favorite announcer.
I love Theo but man is he a foul machine. I had heard he fouled out of every High school game it was supposedly due to him being so much bigger than the other players. I think its largely due to defensive technique. I'm sure wojo and company will teach him the art of the good D without fouling.
At some point you just have to embrace the terrible D. Either with full court pressure or...anything diff.

Or something like Beilein's (sp?) defense which created turnovers in the half-court by jumping passing lanes.
Should be up 25 on these clowns
Just saying.
FRONT COURT: all voted Burrito
BACK COURT: all voted Taco...
I've heard they don't matter but still, I'm now used to seeing Rowsey, Howard and Hauser shoot free throws, so I am startled when an MU player misses a free throw.

Primarily rowsey cannot stop initial penetration, howard has gotten better.
Elliott better than haanif, its official.
Elliott can do that too? I thought he was fun to watch before that.
How about the defense on the possesion before?, hes tuffing the stat sheet again tonight, probable double double n a bunch of everything else
Cain and Elliott are going to be good. Lots of activity and hops from both.
Speaking of Hops, what's everyone drinking? Zombie Dust here.
Our defensive issues are more than just one run and gun shooter.
Delgado is going to have 86 rebounds. In the first half.

I wouldn't go with that just quite yet. But probably by the end of the year and definitely higher potential for years to come
I think GE can go left or right ...that's a start!
M2N is shooting prettay, prettay, pretty good..
Howard is going to have the single game 3 record for awhile.
Well, unless he breaks it himself!
If Georgia didn't know to guard the three line, they do now. That should be their entire D plan.
What us MU single player record for MU 3s in a game? NCAA?

MU: 11 and counting. Last year, Markus tied Mark Anglavar with 9 but has now shredded that record.

15 is the NCAA record. Though player needed OT.
Agree with Tower -- Markus and Rowsey can't guard, and it isn't because of their height.
Elliott and Cain look to have some nice potential as defenders.
Elliott has such a mature game for a frosh......rarely takes a bad shot.....looks to make others better.....impacts the game in ways other then scoring

Anybody hear one of the announcers going on about Morrow being the leader of the team now? Was he just talking out of his A$$ or is he actually?

It's not like it's an official designation or anything. My guess is it was just that guy's observation.
Let's face it. As much as we all lover Rowsey, he doesn't strike me as the most mature guy on our team.

Yeah I know it's not an official designation but the announcer followed it with "he's also very quiet" just seemed like something to say about a player that couldn't be fact checked
