I guess we flag this for the famous SJU alumni thread.

He was a former college basketball walk-on working at McDonald's. What kind of prosperity are we talking about here?
I had a pretty good post all written and then thought of Dahmer. So I shan't talk smack.

Dahmer had absolutely no connection with Marquette other than he happened to live relatively close to campus.

Graduated from St. John's. Had a great opportunity to do more than just kill people.

You can literally say that about any college grad who ended up killing someone.

I lived about a block and a half from him.
He was a quiet guy; kept to himself.

The fact that you knew of him is so unsettling to me. Not on your end of course, just the thought of living that close to a brutal serial killer and not even realizing it is pretty eerie.
Back when I was working for SSP, during training the supervisors would take new employees for a drive around campus which included a stop at where the old Dahmer apartment was. 25 years later, it was still just as creepy to think about.

I hope you never shared any Ambrosia chocolates with him...

I remember playing with other kids from the neighborhood, with one of us being Quake and the other Quisp. Tony the Tiger, the Trix rabbit and Count Chocula were also represented, IIRC.
We also used to play "cigarette tag."

Well ... I lived a block and a half from where he would eventually live, then. Kitty-corner from the VD clinic (or whatever that monstrosity on 24th and Wells was).
